Ate jabs all night and was still moving like his feet was stuck in mud.
He has fast hands and good combos but lacks so much in foot speed and even with 30lbs coming off him he still pretty much looked the same but less power

I liked that he faced adversity, made some adjustments with Reynoso, and boxed very well the rest of the way.

After watching that, what a fun fight Ruiz Vs Wilder would be...
Jury still out for me. Ruiz looks caught between styles and trainers, but that is to be expected... I'm sure Reynoso saw the same things we all did and if Ruiz is talking the truth on his new found dedication and work ethic - they'll be straight back in the gym working after this.
Ruiz chin and hand speed is top tier, his foot work and head movement is not... Both them can easily be improved with a good team and hard work though.

Arreola fought bravely, gave a better fight than most expected but he clearly lost. Matter a fact I agree with those that only gave him the rd he got the KD in.
Ruiz showed a lot of vulnerability and mediocrity.
I’d love to see him in against Wilder, that’s a fairly big fight.

Arreola damn near lost every round from the 5th or 6th round on.

Andy made adjustments and improved just over the course of this fight alone. A few more training camps with Reynoso (it took Oscar Valdez 5 camps) and he will be flying high again.

Any time fighters change trainers there is a period where they can get caught between styles. It's quite normal, real boxing fans understand that.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 05-02-2021, 12:27 AM.billeau2 likes this.
