Money-wise it is. Cuz I think it's the most makeable fight for the most money he gots.

Career-wise I like it cuz I'm rarely mad at the guy who conquers one division who moves up to the next to test himself. I'm sure many & maybe most will say it's a bad move cuz he'll lose & sh^t I'd favor Bud too, but Bud is getting older & he's been tested less than people act like so I think that fight could be interesting.

And with the pandemic there's no way this does a 2M+ gate either.
When did LSC become this huge star? His ratings on FOX were just okay and his gates were pedestrian minus the Mares fights.

Tank is the draw here. They are selling off his back.

If ATL allows for full capacity, then why wouldn't he do over a 2M gate considering he did one vs Gamboa? Even in limited capacity vs LSC he did 1.4M and the venue was announced like four or five weeks before the fight.

LSC might not be a huge star but he was a legit world champion and well known among the Mexican and Mexican-American fanbase. He helped sell that PPV.

Barrios has a secondary title and is a non-entity by comparison. He won't help sell this PPV.

Here we go again... the cherry picking of random minor titles
Hopefully Davis doesn't end up being another Broner... given his direction practically mirrors Broner's

Did Gamboa help sell the 2M+ gate in Atlanta? Tank was still able to pull that off without a strong B side.

It's okay, I'm sure they aren't relying on Barrios to sell much for this fight. Tank is mainly PPV from this point on until circumstances changes, such as him catching a big loss or something.

When people talk about something being PPV-worthy they aren't talking about the gate.

But , again, with COVID cases increasing I wouldn't expect any big crowds any time soon.

I mean again, will depend on the capacity they allow for the fight.

I never said the gate determines the fight being "PPV worthy" or not. Ward vs Kovalev was as PPV worthy of a fight on paper at that time and it did less buys than Tank vs LSC. My point was that "PPV worthy fights" is not a thing. The FIGHTER or in some case the fighter(s) determine that.

Well, I say Tank vs Barrios isn't PPV worthy. We'll see how the numbers come out to either prove or disprove that.

You mean how Tank beat an undefeated guy that Loma then fought? Oh yeah. If this was a non PBC guy the opinion would be different.

I agree with you but the economics are tough now. Davis is their only PPV worthy fighter. Spence to me was never a PPV worthy fighter. Good boxer but his PPVs were kinda forced. Spence-Ugas is an ESPN Friday Night Fights level really.
