Comments Thread For: Froch: Whyte Performed Perfectly, Povetkin Did Show His Age There Slightly

Former super middleweight champion Carl Froch gave high praise to Dillian Whyte for his performance on Saturday night in Gibraltar. Whyte got revenge with a dominant four round stoppage of Alexander Povetkin to reclaim the WBC's interim-heavyweight title.

That overhand right windmill that took about 5 seconds to get where it was trying to go was especially perfect.

The way Whyte was gassed out after 30 seconds of punching Povetkin in 2nd was also... perfect.

Froch must be british. Because Whyte looked like trash after 2nd round and Povetkin looked like old deceased trash after 1st.

Froch always provides a fresh and unique perspective on a fight.

He is one of boxings great thinkers, kind of like Plato... But from Nottingham.

You've got to forgive us Brits for Froch. He sets then world standard for arrogance, recently rating himself far higher than he deserves in an all time 168 lb great poll.Povetkin looked "slightly "old? He was totally shot and finished when he fought Hunter. What a joke.

"Show His Age There Slightly"? Pov looked 50 yo and sick, I wonder if he even had a real camp. Not Whyte´s fault tho, Povetkin was silly getting in the ring in such condition. Time to retire.

Whyte did the business and looked good doing it, credit to him, but I said to my brother during Povetkin's ring walk that he looked tired and ill. I actually think this needs looking into. Can't be sending an unwell man into a ring to face massive HW who could have done some serious damage to him, and ultimately, an unfair contest. Povetkin had no business being in that ring last night and we all know.

I'm sure he felt pressured to take the fight. It has already been delayed. It was a PPV. Big cheque coming his way, but it was just farcical really. The Cheeseman fight was superb, and whilst Cheeseman is far from world-class, boy does he have balls and bring entertainment every time.

Whyte didn't look all that good either, but got the job done. It's not like he beat Fury or anything.

Povetkin was unwell in my opinion, and extremely unfit.

Povetkin looked like the fitter fighter last time, that was why I was originally picking him to win over the distance.

Watch his fight vs Hunter, Povetkin has the ability to just grind and grind like a Olympic wrestler.

Whyte's stamina was marginally better in this fight, due to the fact that he was more functional at the lower weight '247 pounds vs 252 pounds last time etc'.

But that is one area of Whyte's game that has gone backwards since fighting Joshua, his stamina and flexibility seems to be below par. Could be down to his training philosophies, there is really no need for Whyte to be coming in over 250 pounds etc

Whyte looked like a trash & they must have given Povetkin the same drug they have been injecting boxers with recently cos he didn't have his legs from the first round. Something shady is going on in boxing cos I've never seen this many boxers get into without their legs even before the fight starts.
