Mayweather Will Struggle With Marquez, Says Paco

During the recent WBO convention in Hungary, WBO president Paco Valcarcel predicted that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will have some struggles during his September 19 meeting with current WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez moves up by nearly two weight division to meet Mayweather at 144-pounds. Many see the fight as an easy night of work for Mayweather but not Paco. He predicts that Mayweather will have his hands full with making the weight. Mayweather has not fought below the welterweight limit for several years. [details]

Mayweather will make the weight fine. He came in against DLH at what, 149 on fight night?

Considering Pac has been coming in at 147-149 for a while it puts into perspective how well Mayweather manages his weight.

Only time will tell,we have to see what Mayweather brings to the table sep 19.If he comes back as the exact same fighter he was when he faught Hatton then he'll be aight. If not well Mayweather's gonna have a tough night ahead of him. Dont give Marquez a reason to walk you down cause he'll take it

There is a difference between fight night weight and making the weight. For some fighters even 2 or 3 pounds matter a lot. Making 144 would not be easy in my opinion considering the last time Floyd made anything below 147 was three years ago in his fight against Baldomir, and then he has been inactive for 2 years, so making weight would be more difficult.

Paco is such an embarassment to boxing,it's even such a shame some people still quote him. With the shameful way he tried to handle the Cotto issue,he should have prayed for the earth to swallow him

                    I hope so...
I would love to see a defeated Floyd hungry again, I could definitely see him chasing down the big names then.
