i thought he vacated those titles so do he still have to fight the winner.

marquez doesnt need easy wins, he needs all the best fights he can get before he retires.

speaking of Guzman, any more word on when he'll fight again?

I've read on several sites about him potentially fighting Funeka for the vacant Lightweight IBF belt on the Mayweather-Marquez under card

          any update on that situation?

Either that or both lose, which is much more likely IMO.

If he wins he would not be required to defend his WBO LW belt, instead WBO allow him to scout another big fights! So if he will again then the right challenger in WBO LW would be stuck for a long time! Well, good fighters from WBO LW would eventually leave WBO to challenge other talents in other boxing governing bodies!

Why doesn't Mayweather have manditory fights let's say against Mosley, Cotto and such?

even a t/ko lost for both pac and jmm will make pac-jmm 3 a fyt to watch.
makes more money for both as well than any other fyts out there!!

I read somewhere that Guzman-Funeka will be the co-feature for Bute-Andrade II in november.

                    Wait and see I guess.

No way Hozay, Marquez ain't going back to 135. His name will be much more marketable win or lose against Mayweather. I see Marquez staying at 140-147 for the big days, especially if he puts up a good fight against Floyd.

Besides you can never rule out Hatton vs Marquez, Khan vs Marquez, Judah vs Marquez, Diaz vs Marquez II, Malignaggi vs Marquez all at 140, plus Marquez vs Mosley at 147 is not impossible to make since they are both in GBP, same with Hatton. Marquez has 2 or 3 good pay days ahead of him now that he's showing more flexibility in the weights that he can fight in.
ricky or khan will be a good fyt for juanma.
theres money there and it's a pick 'em fyt!
but i would love to see pac-jmm 3 no matter what happens with their oncoming fyts!!
i just hope jmm doesn't get too old after his floyd fyt!!
