he looked good vs marquez until he got ktfo. he looked bad against a featherfisted paulie. as far as big fights go, he's done. marquez ruined him.

No he wasn't. This was a genuine crossroads fight with Diaz having the hometown advantages, but everyone knew Paulie would be a real opponent.

And Paulie didn't give a boxing lesson. A boxing lesson is a 10-2 type shutout, this was a 7-5 decision for Paulie.

I disagree Diaz is done at 135. But at 140 he just looks too damn small and doesn't punch hard enough and doesn't seem to have the same work rate.

You could definitely tell he's not the same fighter he was pre-JMM though.

diaz is a contender/gatekeeper. always was, always will be.

He was a champion at 135, how can he be just a contender?

Thank you Pullcounter at least you know what i mean. I'm not saying that Paulie isnt good because hes very good, Im saying with all the odds stacked against him and being that Diaz people thought since he has no power that he would have an easier time to walk through him and accumulate punches on him and wear him down.

Juan Diaz had EVERYTHING his way. Paulie Malignaggi was in there to make Juan Diaz look good. Diaz had everything to his advantage. Paulie was a light puncher so he didn't have to worry about being hurt, They forced Paulie to drop down in weight, They got the ring size they wanted, They got their biased judges, And they had hometown advatage in Houston. Paulie STILL gave Diaz a boxing lesson. Diaz will not be able to beat any of the top 140lbers. I have nothing agaisnt Diaz I like him as a fighter. It's not his fault that they robbed Paulie.. He trained and he goes to fight thats his job. It's the promoters (Golden Girl), the judges and the Commisions that ruin the sport of boxing that I love. Everyone wonders why the UFC is so popular and why boxing is on a downward spiral. This is one of the major reasons. And let me not even get into the corrupt santioning bodies especially with that BS Diamond belt ****. But yeah Diaz is DONE..

I'm not saying Paulie isnt a good boxer hes definetly a good boxer, I was talking about how Diaz team THOUGHT that it would be an easy fight because Paulie doesnt have power and im sure they seen Hatton vs Malignaggi and figured Diaz would just walk through his punches and eventually wear him down especially being that they forced him to drop in weight.. Paulie is a great boxer and has great skills. If he had some power in those fists he'd be elite and that's real.

Also I havent seen team Diaz take an easy fight in a while. I actual respects his team for always getting him in the ring with great fighters instead of taking lay-up fights

and those are just his last 6 fights in the past 2 years or so. How many fighters 25 and under that has as good of a resume as Juan Diaz. This same team was trying to go after Valero and I have no doubt that will go for a big name in the next fight for juan at 140.
