diaz is not "done". he's not a c-class fighter. marquez didn't "ruin" him.

diaz is fine and malignaggi doesn't get enough credit.

boxing fans get so weird after a loss.

If anything, this fight solidifies how overrated Buddy Mcgirt is as a trainer, LOL. Paulie should have abandoned him a long time ago.

Malignaggi should get with Floyd Sr. IMO. Paulie has it all, minus punching power. He's fast with great boxing skills. All around, he's an excellent athlete.
If Diaz stays at 140 I think he's done.. He's small and depends on his punch accumulation to wear down his opponents.. His opponents at 140 will be bigger and be able to take what he gives.. But do you think his face will hold up with what will be coming back at him? I don't think it will.. We'll see though.

This is ******, you saying Paulie was there to make him look good? Paulie is a fast, slick boxer, he never was that easy of a fight.

How did marquez ruin him when he was clearly outworking and outpointing marquez until he got caught with a few shots. Poster like you kill me though...Just because you lose to a top 3 p4p fighter, hall of famer, and one of the best mexican boxers ever...your considered a bum.

It's hard to argue against that. You're probably right, opponent wise. I don't think he will be in the elite bracket at 140, but I think he will be able to give anyone at 140 a tough fight. Had Malignaggi more power in his shots, Diaz might not have made it to the end of this fight. Sooner or later Diaz will be getting starched at 140.

Juan Diaz is a good little fighter, and we just seen Malignaggi unofficially beat him. ****, if Paulie had a different trainer against Hatton, he would have had a good chance at beating Hatton. Some might dismiss that, but it's hard to argue against after this fight.

                diaz or Malinaggi?

Diaz is too small for 140 (height wise) and that Malinaggie that showed up last night would get Kahn, Ortiz, Urango,Holt, Campbell, Alexander....bascially anyone not named Hatton, Pacquiao and maybe bradley.

But Im not too suprised by posters on here. Back in the day I thought Derrick Gainer was a bum because of a fight he lost that everyone expected him to win. All he had to do was get past a B class fighter, and he would be in line for big shot a title. He ended up losing and that so called B fighter was Juan Manuel Marquez. No one at that time knew Juan would be as good as he is know and many boxing insiders dismissed gainer for the loss.

The whole point of that is just because you lose to a certain fighter doesnt mean you are done. No one ever knows how good that guy is or how his career will turn out. Ive seen fighters like Pacquiao, Winky, and others get blew out the water and get labeled as bums only to come back and reach elite status in the sport of boxing.

every fight, diaz is more and more prone to getting cut... scar tissue is working against him and he's half the fighter he is when he's cut...

Paulie was a light puncher so he didn't have to worry about being hurt, They forced Paulie to drop down in weight, They got the ring size they wanted, They got their biased judges, And they had hometown advatage in Houston. Paulie STILL gave Diaz a boxing lesson. Diaz will not be able to beat any of the top 140lbers. I have nothing agaisnt Diaz I like him as a fighter. It's not his fault that they robbed Paulie.. He trained and he goes to fight thats his job. It's the promoters (Golden Girl), the judges and the Commisions that ruin the sport of boxing that I love. Everyone wonders why the UFC is so popular and why boxing is on a downward spiral. This is one of the major reasons. And let me not even get into the corrupt santioning bodies especially with that BS Diamond belt ****. But yeah Diaz is DONE..
No he wasn't. This was a genuine crossroads fight with Diaz having the hometown advantages, but everyone knew Paulie would be a real opponent.

And Paulie didn't give a boxing lesson. A boxing lesson is a 10-2 type shutout, this was a 7-5 decision for Paulie.

Good, close fight, but not a boxing lesson.

I disagree Diaz is done at 135. But at 140 he just looks too damn small and doesn't punch hard enough and doesn't seem to have the same work rate.

You could definitely tell he's not the same fighter he was pre-JMM though.
