The point about Pac is well taken. What about 147? 154 is definitely a stretch, but would you say Pac moving up to 147 would be a risk as big as Mayweather going to 154. Pac doesn't seem willing to do that.

Mayweather is small enough that demanding a catch-weight with Oscar wouldn't have been a terrible thing, but he didn't do it. We should respect that. I know some of you say he gets props for that, but I certainly haven't seen it around here.

My purpose is not to criticize Pac because I also feel he deserves all the credit in the world. I just think there are definitely some double standards when it comes to Mayweather.

Yes, Mayweather is coming back and fighting a lightweight. But lets be real about this. Do you expect him to come back and fight Mosley straight from retirement? Would you really expect any other boxer to do that right after a 2 year lay-off? We all know he wants the major money fights, so fighting someone like Urkal would be out of the question. At least he's taking on someone with major skill that provides intrigue. I didn't hear much crying with Oscar taking on Forbes...at least not as much as this fight. Double standard again?

Mayweather makes a good point. If you can't give him credit for beating Marquez (if he does beat him), will you give him credit if he beats Pac, a man that many people thought lost to Marquez.

I, for one, am not to worried about who he fights coming off retirement. I'll save my criticism for if he wins and doesn't fight a Cotto/Pac/Mosley/maybe PWill next. Those are the only fights I want to see him in after Marquez. I think he receives way too much criticism for taking this fight right out of retirement.
I agree completely who would come back after a 2 year lay off and fight some1 like mosley or cotto...but thats what is anoying me, mayweather is acting as if he is fighting som1 bigger then pac and a harder fight then mosley
..alot of people may say "he lost to JMM" but i had him winning the first and drawing the 2nd...there was a vote on boxing scene and they had manny winning the first by quite abit i think...the 2nd i wouldnt be suprised to see people pick JMM as he faught a hell of a fight...

And i see what he is saying about if he dont get credit for marquez how can he get credit for pac...but the fact is...pac has been to 135 and won, 140 and beat the #1 fighter...and he faught (yes a ****ttttt) DLH at 147....but fighting Cotto at 145, is that not a huge fight? i mean lets be real those 2 pounds wont make that much of a difference especially the fact cotto came in 146 last time....Cotto has the advantage in that fight...

What do you thinks more risky...Cotto or JMM at ww....Another thing aswel about mayweather tho, He constantly says "why should i fight this person when he lost to..bla bla" Hes fighting a guy with 4 loses now 1 being to pac....yet he wont fight mosley, cotto or marg, (well margs outa the question now, and ok hes just come bk i HOPE he fights cotto or mosley...) because they hav all beaten eachother...

If JMM beat Manny then Floyd was down against Zab.

while juan did beat pac, he is older, smaller and not as suited to climb up weight classes......terefore a fight floyd perceives as easy........and even then he almost gayed out an made it a 147 fight(and we're not even sure its not at 147)

hahaha.. i hope he's not serious when he said that..

lol. If he wants to fight a guy who beats pacquiao.. he should fight morales or the thailander guy who won against pacquiao.

I bet he will make more PPV's if he fought bobby pacquiao than fighting JMM.

              that's a good story..

tend to see it one sided. Arum kept Cotto from Floyd
at 140 AND Cotto has NEVER officially said "I want to fight
Floyd Mayweather Jr" That's all he had to do make me
believe he wanted it with Floyd. Every other fighter has
called Floyd out except Cotto? Cotto was the challenger
and Floyd was the champ, why wouldn't he not call him
out especially if he felt he could beat him? Cotto was at
the Gatti fight (R.I.P), and Jim Lampley said and I quote
"Miguel Cotto is in the crowd and potentially next in line
to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr but I wouldn't recommend it"
Cotto style is tailor made for Floyd, Cotto struggled against
Mosley and Clottey boxing skills? Could you imagine Floyd
in there with Cotto? Floyd is an inch taller if I'm not mistaken
and has a longer reach....... Floyd would mopped the floor
with Cotto BUT I still would like to see them fight.
Team cotto tried to make a fight twice but elerbe turned them down twice, said cotto needed a fan base, was a punching bag, didn't make any $ for them & all the BS he always says to avoid a good fighter. & easy for u to say some BS about the mosley & clottey fight when ur boy will never fight them. Mop the floor ? But cuddnt mop it with Judah or corley, plz get real child.
