I don't think Cotto has the hunger to continue fighting when he's 34 years old. Cotto probably might retire at age 31 or 32, my guess.

This is one of the reasons why there are fighters out there that I like better than Cotto. The guy got a multimillion dollar payday to fight Michael Jennings. Often times fighters who are over paid are the most overrated. Look at Jermaine Taylor and Andre Berto. Now I think Cotto is a better fighter than both of those guys, but people get what I'm saying. Cotto has a good resume, but the way that HBO and Arum has pampered him has held him back in the hunger department.

You must be crazy! Cotto fought Jennings...get over it!!! Cotto fights anyone they put in front of him. Jennings had a good record he deserved a chance at stardom. Also we all know that Arum wanted Cotto to have a tuneup before another big fight.

I'm so ***ing tired of this lame ass catch phrase!
How about when fighters get to a certain level they fight who the fans put in front of them.
That lame ass slogan allows fighters like cotto and pacq to avoid the criticism of cherry picking and sidestepping legit comp.

Hasn't it ever crossed your mind that Miguel gets paydays because he has a large fanbase? Boxing is a business and if you bring in viewers you are going to get paid. Nothing overrated about Miguel, he has fought the very best.

it might be at 31 but not 30.
he is going to be 29 in october.
plus he extended 2 more years with arum so he will be 31 when he is done with the contract

Cotto been saying this for years and he said he will retire after his contract extension with Top Ranks expires in 2 years.
