Listen you can look at it one of two ways. the fact is Kelly showed heart in his two bouts with JT. Especially the first bout where JT had him out on his feet with plenty of time left in the round to finish him. Also to the other poster JT can box. It is not his boxing skills that are at fault for his recent losses it is his stamina and lack of training. Also Miranda was knocking everyone out at the tiem When he fought Kelly. Miranda is a very hard puncher and has a style much like Mayorga. Wild and unpredictable. These types of fighter can often give some trouble. You have to give Kelly credit for those three wins. As for the fight against Hopkins you tell me who B hop hasn't made look bad and confused?

On the other hand Williams beat a 37 year old Winky coming off a two year layoff and to tell you the truth Williams al though he dominated Winky did not make Winky look that bad. I still think Winky can beat alot of guys at 160lbs. Margarito was a very tough opponent and not to be taken lightly cast or no cast. I agree Williams has proven less but looked awesome in his wins against whom ever he has fought. This fight should happena and Williams team cannot let it go.....Lefty

What is wrong with Paul Williams? He should not get even split against the middleweight champ, he draws exactly NO ONE. Pavlik isn't exactly De La Hoya, but he's the champ and way more a draw then Paul is.

We agree to disagree REED I am not naming specific fights but I think it has been stated by JT that he could have done more in training. His stamina is his downfall. he has also abandoned his jab and stood toe to toe with punchers like Pavlik and Froch. he has a habit of going straight back and laying on the rope s and getting trapped in the corner. All can be worked on in training. Ring movement is and can be part of training and worked on during sparring and other training methods. He lacks in those areas #1 STAMINA, #2 RING MOVEMENT #3 FINISHING....All thes tthings can be taught in training and can be worked on.....Lefty

i agree with these guys..Williams has always cried bitched and moaned that he cant secure top fights or thats hes being ducked...well, they slap his tall talentless ass in the face with a fight with Pavlik and his chance to boost his name to the boxing world...and hes ****ing crying about the purse split which isnt even in the millions difference...what a ****ing loser...

It doesn't matter who the bigger draw is, it's not a ppv fight.

HBO put that money up, Pavlik-Sturm was only gonna get 2 mil for their budget, this is almost double that. If I was on P-Will's team I'd ultimately take the fight with that split and be happy that Williams will be the new middleweight champ, but I'd negotiate for at least 1.75 mil.

Top Rank is actually right on this. Why in the hell would the gate be split in half when Williams has a very small following and Pavlik has a decent following? I think Paul should take this fight and be happy with the 1+ million dollar payday.

If Williams' camp back out of that offer, they are not as confident about Williams chances as they let on.

He is almost getting wage parity on the fight. Pavlik is the Champion and Pavlik is more of a draw. It is very fair.

Maybe they don't have to split it down the middle but
Williams should get a piece of the Gate and Sponsorship
because both fighters are making the fight. HBO is paying
for Pavlik/Williams not just Pavlik. HBO is putting up that
$ because of both fighters so they should both share
in all revenues whether or not it's down the middle.

bottom line is, pavlik and williams have nowhere else to turn to right now. they pretty much need each other. i agree that they shouldn't have to split the gate money and sponsorship money 50-50, but PWILL definitely shouldn't be left out in the cold either.

P Williams has been left out i the cold for years now this is probably more $$$$ then he has been offered period. If he and his camp are confident he can win then furture earnings will be plentiful. Go for it and take the 1.25 to 1.5 they are offering you and kick Kelly's arse....Lefty
