The minute Pavlik signed to fight Hopkins, I knew it was a huge mistake. This matchup was talked about on here before that fight and the consensus was that Pavlik slaughters him. My how times change.

Paul Williams is going to be a tough fight for anyone. He has a very good chin, decent power, phenomenal work rate, and he's a good inside fighter. But he gets hit, and while Pavlik isn't a huge puncher, they accumulate. Paul will be in for a long night, and if this fight is made, and he wins, I'll swing from his nuts myself.

Yep, it would be a massive win for Williams, no doubt.

I would like to see the fight made. I think Pavlik probably takes it to be honest. The key factor for me is that Paul is too easy to hit and Pavlik is just such a tough bastard, he will keep coming at you all night and it is really tought to withstand that kind of damage.

Williams could definately do it though, would be a good fight.

PW needs to take anything at this point. why does he think he deserves more of the purse? because he beat winky wright coming off a 10 year lay off? he has no drawing power, is not a champ and doesnt even have a weight class. he claims that nobody wants to fight him but when a fight is offered by the MW champ without him even deserving it he comes up with all of this bull****? Williams camp complain that he's completely avoided, then they get an offer and want more money... Pavlik is the Champ and the draw, Williams should take this very reasonable offer and show us how good he is.

Honestly the 154lb division is a no man's land Mangler. Williams would still be an unknown to the majority of the boxing world if he remains at 154lbs. The place to be right now is 140, 147 and 168. At least at 160lbs he has Pavlik to go in against.

Agreed sir 100% Williams has been crying for a big fight. This is his opportunity knocking right now. Also the fact that he has the chance to have the fight paired with the PPV fight from the week before will make more people tune into to it. The PPV fight FMJ vs JMM may be a snoozer so if he and Pavlik can make their fight action packed then it will bring a shine of light upon the two.

I agree, Sergio Martinez would be Paul's only problem, other then that, I see Paul cleaning up the division.

Problem is Sergio who? Oh yeah the soccer player who boxes now I forgot. A very forgettable division right now and a forgettable fight. He is better off going after the MW crown and Pavlik.

Top Rank is actually right on this. Why in the hell would the gate be split in half when Williams has a very small following and Pavlik has a decent following? I think Paul should take this fight and be happy with the 1+ million dollar payday.

I agree they can't look at it as HBO only offered 2 mil for the Sturm fight and now they are offering close to 4 mil for this fight so give us 1/2. They should look at it as Williams fought Verno Phillips and Andy Kolle in 2 of his last 3 fights. The other fight was against Winky Wright and you could hear the crickets in the back round while they were exchanging blows. Pavlik is the draw here and the fans are reay to see what Williams can do in there against a legitimate Champion. Here is you chance Williams to show us that you are truly the most feared man in boxing. Go ahead and put you money where your mouth is and take the straps from Pavlik. then you can make your own terms and have people calling you for fights....Lefty
