just playing devil's advocate...if mayweather and cotto were to fight in the near future...i would hope that people wouldn't put cotto in that washed up category simply to discredit mayweather...

Cotto will beat Pac easily. A fight against Paul Williams would bring out the best of Cotto. Paul still beats him though

Right now people can't say Cotto is shot because of his preformance vs Clottey. He was fighting a very good opponent with good defence, a hard style to look good against and with a big cut around his eye. I don't see how people can call him shot after a win over a top 3 WW. I can't talk about Mayweather jr because he had the chance to face Cotto at his very best and he choose not to.

We will find out in his next fights if Cotto is shot ot not.

the only reason why it seems like he passed his prime is bcuz he lost a fight against margarito. i mean, i think hes still gnna get better. its just that he hasnt looked that well bcuz theres been a couple of guys that made him look bad or did not make him look as good as usual, like marga nd clottey. he just is having dificult opponents for him

I doubt Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao believe this.

This is the same ****zine that said that Cotto was still the same after the Jennings fight.

If you guys go back and watch the Clottey fight you will see it's the same exact Cotto...The only reason Cotto didn't look as good as usual is because of who he was fighting...not because he's past it...I haven't read the article...but if the headline is the jist of it...I think it's very wrong...and team Pac would be very wise to ignore these kind of reports...

If Miguel Cotto can impose his size and strength on Manny he my catch the beating of his pro career.

If Manny can use his speed and in and out movement to keep Cotto off balance and guessing all night...it will be a long night for Cotto.

Both scenarios are very plausible and arguments can be said for either side...Thats why they fight the fights.

i disagree...cotto was not punching at certain times...he got scared of clottey's shots...i think that if clottey had turned it up when he was supposed to and not let cotto gain his composure or would have thrown at least and extra 20 shots to cotto's cut...he would have won that fight hands down...it seemed that it was more of clottey not finishing than cotto pulling through...

It look to me like it was more of Cotto making adjusments and moving/boxing more than Clottey no finishing.

Clottey wasn't throwing for a reason...

Cotto started to counter the hell out of him with left hooks...It goes both ways....Cotto became defensive because of the cut from a Head-butt(which most people tend to not mention) and Clottey started being cautious when Cotto began to time him.

Cotto pulled out the victory...however you choose to see it is your prerogative but there's a reason why Cotto got his hand raised at the end of the fight and it wasn't because Clottey wasn't scoring it was because Cotto was.

No. He's just fighting top WW comp which happen to be very big WWs. I do think making 147 is starting to drain him a bit thou.
