Imo fight at 147lb but make a limit to what Cotto can be come in at fight night, i don't understand how catchweight can be for a belt but nvm. If it goes ahead at 145 i will give Pac big props tho. I dont think 145 to 147 is anywhere near same as what happened to Dela hoya tho + the age factor with him. So yeah big credit to Pac if he wins even if he blasts him out early.

Will you give Manny full credit if he beats Cotto @ 145 for the ww belt?

If he can make 147, he can make 146.... well he made 146, so he can make 145...
At what point DOES it start effecting the fighter?
That was my point... f.uckboy
If one pound or two or three is so easy to shed,
why didn't Guzman, or Castillo, or Corrales, etc, not make their weights?
I like rooting for Pacquiao, but in this instance, I can't ride with that. He went up to fight DLH at 147, he needs to do the same for everyone else. If he can't, just stay at 140.

Let me break it down: He has made 146 more times than 147 on the dot. So making 145 is more reasonable. But at 144, he's losing 2 pounds. Ok. At 143 he's losing 3 more pounds than is usual.
Losing one pound more than average is different than losing 3 more pounds than average. And losing 3 pounds will effect you WAY more than 1.
I'm sure you know this but you're for some reason using a very ******ed argument.

Cotto is DRIED the HELL out at 147..... hence why he puts on THIRTEEN pounds of water in TWENTY FOUR hours. so two pounds IS a lot... even ONE pound, when being TRULY dehydrated, is A LOT...
ESPECIALLY... when you are fighting the best fighter in the world... its not like hes fighting Jennings at 145...
We are arguing an un-arguable point.
FACT: Me, NOR YOU... knows if Cotto WILL be effected by 145lbs or not.

Second of all, even though technically yes you can win the 147lb belt at 145lbs... I dont agree with it.
If YOU want to come in at 145.. or hell even 140... then so be it.
But dont make the 147lbs champion... who is defending the 147lb belt... come in at 145lbs. Thats how I feel about it.

It was in '06 that he was fighting at 140. Making 147 is nowhere near hell for him.
