Arum isn't fooling anybody with a brain..Cotto is simply less of a threat to Fanny Pac.

Cotto is still wearing a fresh ass-whipping and a gift win.

Although there's a huge question mark over that fight, there's no proof. And Mosley looked more impressive against Marg than he's done for many years, which makes many people think that he's been rejuvenated. Given how close the first Cotto-Mosley fight was, and given that Mosley has apparently returned to his best form since then, a lot of people, including many boxing experts, think Mosley would be the favourite to win a rematch, rightly or wrongly.

To get his rating back, he'll have to beat Mosley, that's all there is to it (unless Mosley loses to someone else first). And that would also create a new lineal champion, which is what boxing needs.
Very good point expressed and i respect them even if i don't agree with all of them, but lets keep in perspective that Mosley needs to keep fighting and fight good oponenets in order for him stay # 1 if that's the case. In the meantime Cotto has had 2 fights (Jenning and Clottey) and it's about to face the P4P best, whether he belongs or not at 147 the fight will categorized as a WW bout being that it will be over the 140 weight limit.

By the way i also think that Mosley could have a better chance against Cotto in a rematch, not saying he'll win but i know he will come with some adjustments on whcih Cotto will need to adjust also and that where the winner will be he who adjust better to his opponent in a Cotto-Mosley II bout, however until then Mosle IMO (respecting yours) has not doen enought to be the best WW.

        huh

Pacquiao-Cotto fight makes a lot of sense and it makes a lot of money for both parties than Pacquiao-mosley fight, cotto is in his peak right now as a boxer not like mosley his not in his peak now a days. so there is no excuses for this fight....

No he's not considering Stewart and he said it in another article today also.

I sense that you think the same way i do regarding that matter and he should bring Stewart to his team, hell he can even keep his current trainer in his corner if he want's to but to me Stewart will be a great addition to Cotto's career especially knowing that Stewart is known for his defensive knowledge. Cotto keeps on getting hit alot and i didn't see no improvement against the uppercut in clottey's fight and it causes so many damage on Cotto. I beleive that Stewart can help Cotto improve alot in that area and would make Cotto very letal.

Arum has to make to Cotto fight cause he needs to squeeze as much money out of him and his popularity as possible. Cotto's contract with Top Rank expires this year and it's uncertain if he will re-new his contract again. Cotto was very unhappy with Arum when Arum defended Margacheato from the plaster situation.

This could possibly be Arum's last chance to cash in on his Puerto Rican money maker... Cotto is indeed making it rain these days.... And for all you haters - Go **** Yourselves !!!!!!! LOL !!!!!

i kind of fed up with all that ****. Mayweather only speaks about the money in boxing, so do know arum with talking about PPV sales. boxing isn't only about the money but about facing the best, and at this moment mosley is the better fighter. Comme on with the de la hoya and the hatton fight pac has made so much money, so it wouldn't make so much of a difference if he would fight mosley or cotto. I#m not an mma fan, but at MMA the best are facing each other instead of talking about fan bases, money and paperview sale

your wrong, it'snot because mosley is 37 thqt he isn't anymore in his peak. Look when mosley was considered one of P4P best after beating de la hoya. Sure he was more dominant, but who has he fought untill the forrest fight except of DLH. And know look at his last fights, he beat vargas (even if he was shot he was a better fighter than the most people mosley beat untill then), Collazo, a close one with cotto, mayyorga, and margarito. I think mosley s oin his prime right now

mosley has nobody to blame but them all in gbp.
they should have pushed for the floyd-shane fyt rather than floyd-jmm.
manny-cotto is almost a done deal.
i think it will be at 145, 62-38 split.

manny wants it in mid-Oct rather than Nov.
cottofans will surely whine on this again....

Yeah but The Ring doesn't demote fighters for inactivity after only 6 months. If Mosley doesn't fight again this year, he might lose his #1 rating, but even then I'm not certain - Rafael Marquez kept his rating with them for over a year without a fight although admittedly that was coming off three wars, which gave him an excuse. But I hope Mosley fights Clottey, Berto or Williams this year.

I agree with your analysis of the rematch.

Has there been any insight in the PR press about why he decided not to consider Steward?
