Was JCC a ***** for "making" Whitaker fight at 145? Did it effect the outcome?

Roach said Pacquiao had trouble making 135, I'm pretty sure its safe to say Pacquiao's body had matured. Featherweights don't come into the ring 145-148. Also, Cotto isn't walking Pacquiao down, Paquiao has more then enough power to get his respect/ or even take Cotto out.

144 is the fairest weight IMO, anything less would be a disadvantage to Cotto. The most Manny would weigh in at is 142 or 143.

this small at this weight or big at this weight thingy is rendering the weight classes almost useless...

On the flip side, even if the fight were at 147 and Pacman won, "Margarito destroyed Cotto!!" or "Clottey destroyed Cotto!" or "Cotto was SHOT!!" etc.

There will never be peace here.

It's a lose lose scenerio for Cotto, if he wins then people would say it's like James Kirkland losing to Dawson, if he loses........Then what can i say it would be humiliating.
I agree with both of you. It's a lose-lose for Cotto. If Pac wins he's the man for beating a bigger fighter....and deservedly so, if he loses it's oh well, he finally bit off more than he could chew.

There are so many reasons why this fight shouldn't happen....but at the same time it's such a compelling fight.

I mean, fight Cotto at 147 dammit. Pacquiao has an advantage in that, Cotto has to plant his foot in order to throw, Pacquiao is alot faster on his feet and with the right game plan, he can get Cotto out of there.

Going to the body against Pacquiao is dangrous and I don't see Cotto getting to the body, atleast not without getting hit upstairs. Pacquiao can win this, he doesn't need a catch weight.

because cotto will be a middleweight on fightnight and pac will be a welterweight on fight night.

pac fighting cotto at 147 lbs is suicide.

**** no!!! cotto is a big WW. he's a middleweight on fight night.
If it's at 145, to me there should be no excuses from cotto fans IF he loses. Same with Pacquiao if he loses.
are you nuts!!! cotto was 146 lbs last saturday and he look fine. 145 lbs is only 1 lbs for cotto to come down. pac was 138 lbs against hatton. that's 7 lbs for pac to come up.

cotto's has too much of a size advantage at 145 lbs.

exactly, so cotto has to sacrifice a little to make the fight fair.

yep its not the same. mosley and cotto are way too big for pac. they are middleweights by fight night and pac is a welterweight.

nah 145 is not good. that's only 1 lbs for cotto to lose, pac would have to come up 7 lbs.

cotto's size advantage is too much at 145 lbs.

No, I give Cotto full credit for the win. I'm sick of people making Pacquiao look out to be this small guy. Pacquiao was bigger then JMM, EM, MAB, DLH (Not Naturally)...didn't the tale of the tape with Hatton reveal how big Pacquiao was? Cotto isn't a little guy but he sure as hell isn't Clottey, Margarito or Cintron big.

Pull, bringing Cotto down to 144 isn't gonna change him being a middleweight on fight night....

Cotto looked bigger than Clottey to me. When was the last time you saw Cotto's unofficial weight? Alright then.

Yea, and I would give Pac full credit, but I feel like not many people would.
