Maybe it is, maybe it isn't... he could just have an injury you know. He might have been injured, and cause the fight isn't selling too well it give them a reason to postpone it to a preferred date so the fight sells more... it would have been postponed anyway due to an injury.

All these negative people are talking without any back up... wait until you hear a doctor say something then talk, and saying PBF isn't at all a draw is bull**** cause the number's don't lie.

50/50 a Pacquiao fight should happen because they both equally need each other for such a big fight... a bigger fight can't happen with anybody else.

Manny should tell Floyd to build up a fanbase before he can get a fight.

How many fights sell out over a Month before it happens. Hatton-Pac didn't sell out until the week of the fight. 24/7 hadn't started and would have greatly helpe the ticket sales.

                "Sources tell MaxBoxing"

Not being funny or anything but that isn't very reliable, I aint saying it has or hasn't done more than 3,000... but we should at least wait to hear from a good and legitimate enough source. If somebody can provide one, a reliable source then fair play.

Plus... come on stop pasting the negative stuff, there was some good points made in that article as to why the ticket sales might be hurting and it seems like the TS just ignored it, at least take everything into account.

All I am saying is, it is known that the ticket sales are hurting... but we don't know if it is more than 3,000 or not... and "sources tell MaxBoxing" isn't reliable enough in my opinion, lets just wait and see for a more reliable source to come along guys.

IF the ticket sales bit is true..

This is not a reflection of Floyd's drawing power, he was doing the best numbers besides Oscar a few fights before he retired. Any low ticket sales would be a plain as day protest against the opponent in this comeback fight of his (which is ridiculously on PPV). Let's not forget the bad press he's received on ESPN along with the everyday ranting on boards for actually accepting Marquez' challenge.

Mayweather has NO ONE but himself to blame if he doesn't generate enough interest, I agree. He could still save some face however, by LOWERING his salary demands for the fight, making this a WCB affair so no one has to shell out for an expensive PPV.

He's guaranteed to give HBO their highest non PPV broadcast for the year going that route instead of rolling the dice on buyrates and putting himself in the heel position for any big fight matchups.

its funny because floyd and his stans have been talking so much trash.

Its not good news that the arguably second top draw in boxing is only selling 3000 tickets against the number 3 P4P fighter. All the time UFCrap is selling out arenas around the world. It's hight time the big wigs in boxing put their heads together and sorted this mess out!!!
pbf and jmm have never been great draws at the gate. seriously, pbf's fanbase buys ppvs not seats and jmm had to fight in houston against diaz.

this doesn't reflect boxing, it reflects pbf as an A-side and jmm as a B-side.

nah, the comeback got a lot of press and hype, its just that nobody wants to pay that much to watch a mismatch.

I still hope this can be made a success...It's bad news for boxing if the number 3 draw in our sport can't sell out an arena.

Your all enjoying this way to much.

                    Come on people Boxing First.
I don't think its necessarily bad news for boxing. lets say pbf/jmm gets scrapped. now hbo will have money to make more competitive fights.

well, now arum will go back to 60-40 in favor of manny after this news.

                    Eat that humble pie Floyd!
well, floyd did do decent numbers w/ baldomir, but that wasn't in a recession.

Boxing is tryin to survive in this economy as well as competing with UFC, and ya'll think it's funny? Sure PBF can be an ******* but I bet ya'll are the same people that in UFC and boxing arguments say PBF makes 20 mill a fight compared to UFC fighters 500,000
it's funny because its a huge dose of reality for floyd and his stans.

well floyd would still make $15 million and UFC fighters still make 500,000. those arguments are still good.

For what was being billed as a "major event", 3,000 tickets sold by this point is a financial disaster.
I gotta admit this is pretty sad for pbf. if the gate sales are a prelude to the ppv sales, floyd will have to take less than 50% against pac.

Disliking Mayweather does NOT mean disliking boxing.
yep. I think if PBF came all the way down to 140 lbs, that might make the fight more competitive and people might be more willing to buy.

I think he stands a better chance of beating Floyd even more so than Cotto and Clottey. I actually analyze match ups unlike a lot of other people do.
your analysis is poor if you think jmm poses a bigger threat than cotto and clottey. I'm not saying floyd doesn't beat them all though, but for sure 2 WWs pose a bigger threat than a lightweight.

That aside, maybe these guys need to be willing to take a pay cut and have the fight off of PPV.
its too late for that. they promoted the ***** out of this fight already. they need to make money with this one.

But I want to see JMM get this opportunity to fight a big name. Pacquiao got 3 million dollars plus Phillipino TV rights to fight David Diaz. And JMM can't get a little more than that to fight Mayweather? I don't get it. JMM deserves better than what he gets.
why can't JMM get TV rights in mexico?

yep, make good fights for flop.

There is also a lesson for Floyd in all this. The boxing public will more likely throw money your way if you are liked. If you continue to play the villain, they will get tired of it. If you do decide to play the Villain, it will only work if you back it up. Don't talk about being the best if you are not willing to back that **** up.
well, being the villian only works if people think you can be beat. jmm does not pose that kind of threat so playing the villian won't work. in the promotion, floyd should've been nice as hell, even to brian kenny. floyd needed to be a little more humble and not throw around so much cash or talk about money this and money that. I think that really turned off people. I mean if people got pissed off about GM executives flying private jets to DC, of course they are gonna be less than thrilled by the image pbf puts forth.

true, who knows how reliable this report is.

To teh jack asses comparing boxing to UFC you need to STFU

once again, the reason the UFC puts on shows that sell out is because they have slightly better undercards only because they make such little money.

The main event pays the fighters 1 maybe 2 million
the undercards get **** like 50,000

compare that to 10-15 million for the main event in boxing
                    co-sign

Simple economics my friends. If PBF werent so ***in greedy he could fight on regular HBO and take a smaller check for a fight that should be really easy for him. We all know JMM is going to make peanuts for this fight.
                    yeah, he got greedy

And we arent laughing at boxing we are laughing at the self proclaimed CASH COW not being able to sell jack. This whole one month befoe the fight is shyte. People just dont care for this match up. I bet Mosley vs Fraud would sell out as would cotto vs Fraud
yeah, the people aren't fooled that pbf/jmm isn't a mismatch.

Fraud needs to pick a true WW and he will have no problems selling out the event.
yep, beating dlh doesn't make you dlh.

yep. if they move this to before the mexican independence day, jmm should get a bigger cut than he has now, cause then he's the draw not floyd.

yeah, the injury could be legit and the poor ticket sales forced them to move it back to mexican independence day. we don't know for sure, but it can't be unrelated imho.

no way. bob is a shrewd dude. after these numbers got leaked, arum for sure will go back to 60-40.

if this fight is downgraded to WCB on HBO, that will ruin floyd's position in negotiations w/ arum. surely bob would say 60-40 or pac fights cotto or mosley, 2 guys floyd won't fight.
