Paq's also the only one out of the 3 that hasn't had to face any real threats above 130, yet. And when you fight as many soft opponents as Manny has, sooner or later people are gonna ask for a real fight. lol In Paq's case it might be Cotto, talk about bad timing. But at the same time, I think Cotto slowin down a notch somewhat evens out a fight between the two.

At 147lbs Pac can still fight Cotto, Pac would probably weight 145-146 at weight in and weigh 148-149 at fight time.

Cotto might weigh 146-147 and rehydrate up to 157-159 at fight time.

So... would a 10lbs advantage be fair? Would Cotto get full credit for beating Pac at the welterweight division?

Same thing if they meet at a 144lbs catchweight... although I believe that Cotto can make it without any problems... Pacman will also get the same discredit...that Cotto was dehydrated if Pac was able to beat him.

Dumb people fails to see that if Cotto agrees at a 144 catchweight he can still rehydrate to 154-156...Cotto will still be a much bigger fighter than Pacquiao by fight time.

Can't they see that Pacquiao is always willing to fight guys who will get much bigger that him come fight time?

Juan Marquez is the man everyone says beat Manny...so It would make more sense to fight Marquez then Pacquaio. These guys Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, come into the fights weight 160(middleweight) MAnny and Floyd walk around @ 145/147 soa t peak they'r Jr welterweights/ lightweights. So the bottomline is they should be fighhting eachother

Margarito, Cotto, Clottey should be fighting Paul Williams.
floyd started as pro at 130.....floyd fought a 35 yr old oscar, and 36 vs manny.....floyd is way bigger than pac and jmm....

But then again I don't know what Freddie Roach is asking for, I bet he wants Cotto to go down in weight and I don't know how much that will affect Cotto. I'm a fan of both but I hate catchweights, and I feel if Manny really wanted to prove something to the public he should be confident enough to fight at 147. But something gives me the feeling Cotto wants to chase a fight with Manny because it brings alot of money, so I'm sure will get a catch-weight of something like 144-143...

I hate these damn catch-weights, their disgusting as hell. I mean why is it okay for Manny to fight Oscar at 147 but not the other opponents? That is basically admitting they feel Oscar was really weight drained. Also, I'm not a hater of Mannys if people look at my previous posts you can tell I'm a fan of Pacquiaos and Cottos. I just am really not a fan of catch-weights, and neither is my buddy Mangler.
The fact here is that Pacman is the moneymaker for this fight and it is Cotto who needs Pacman or Floyd, to get to their money making status, even if we beleive that Cotto could probably beat them.

Having said that and being Pacman Camp is in the driving seat, they will demand a catchweight, to accept the fight. Hell they will probably also demand 60/40 of the revenue and deserve it also, or at least 55/45. Pacman has nothing to prove to Cotto neither Cotto to Pacman, but if Cotto want's to fight it's going to be under Pacman's conditions. However Cotto should not fight below 144, because it could hurt him to make any weight below that.

Comparing De La Hoya and Cotto at this stage of their careers is not a good comparison. Cotto would destroy De La Hoya also. Pacman camp knows this, that's why they will fight DLH at 147 but not Cotto. You can't blame them for being smart. That's there job.

I'm a Cotto fan and he could demand a fight against Clottey and probably demand 60/40 revenue at that moment but with Pacman is the other way around including the weight.
