Well if he is unpopular as you suggest, then Floyd will never get credit for anything. But if he beats Mosley, he'll have beaten a current welterweight champion who will be a first ballot hall of famer. Hard to put a bad spin on that. Marquez will get to the HOF, but not for anything he did at welterweight.

I still dont understand why people stil defend floyd saying "why fight people that come into the ring so much bigger then him" If you cant fight people that weigh in as welterweights...then get out of the division...if you not gonna fight welterweights..GET OUT OF THE DIVISION...its ridiculous...

I do believe floyd has the skill to beat anyone in WW, but He dont wana risk it at all and yet he stil wants to be known as one of the greats of all time? that the difference between him and pacman...

You say if floyd fights any1 now he wont get credit...well he would defo get credit for beatin mosley after wht mosley did to marg....he would get credit if cotto wins his next fight n faught him...there was no way he was gna take on marg but if he beat him he wld of got a hell of alot of credit...

Imagine if Ali claimed to be the best heavyweight of all time yet didnt face the fraziers, foremans and spinks etc, how could you ever claim to be the best, without fighting the best in you devision?

Even if you do say he faught the fights with castillo, corrales,hatton etc..the fights that were "wanted" ... how can he still claim to be the best if you not willing to take on the fights that everyone wants to see....

People do seem to be forgetting his competitive fight with Mayorga (in which Mosley was actually behind on one of the scorecards going into the final round) after which the general consensus was that he was a shot fighter. Nevertheless its an obvious fight to make and anybody should get credit for beating him, though it hardly makes you an instant ATG!
