Do you think Sports Illustrated would risk their prestige and credibility. Posing False Earnings...????
Sports Illustrated is a Fortune 500 company... think about that.!

Ranking the 50 highest-earning athletes in the U.S.

Five years ago, Sports Illustrated first set out to find the 50 top-earning American athletes (taking into account on- and off-the-field income). We discovered a few basic facts, and as the Fortunate 50 turns five, some things have remained dead-on consistent:

    Floyd Mayweather #4

It's been a monster year (2008) for Pretty Boy, who made $20 million in purse and pay-per-view shares for his fight with Ricky Hatton and another $20 million for his foray into professional wrestling.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    Boxing
    $20,000,000 Salary/Winnings
    $20,250,000 Endorsements
    ____________________________
    $40,250,000

if the story line said $20 mil of course WWE is not going to come out and said they paid him less money.

a dire need for money is the reason Floyd Mayweather Jr. is accepting this invite from the WWE, (and it's not, his Pay-Per-View fight with Oscar De La Hoya was purchased in over 2 million homes and brought in well over $100 million in revenue) than he will leave the venture more than satisfied. It is being reported by WWE head honcho Vince McMahon that Floyd Mayweather will receive $20 million from his participation in Wrestlemania. While this figure is assuredly overstated and loaded with unreachable incentives, whatever Mayweather walks away with will leave him satisfied.

Is it believable Chris Webber signed a $122,718,750 contract with the kings
Is it believable Alexander Ovechkin signed a $124,000,000 contract with the capitals
Is it believable Rashard Lewis of the Orlando Magic signed a $126,000,000 contract.
Is it believable Fernando Alonzo of auto racing singed a $160,000,000 just to race cars?

You wouldnt believe the amount of money business pay athletes for their services...but like it or not it happens...

and according to sports illustrated WWE paid Mayweather his money for his services

those contracts are for multiple years, and for entire seasons, not for a couple of appearances per year.

seriously, why are you getting so worked up? looking around for these contract amounts, when OBVIOUSLY those contract amounts are huge and would support the allegation of Floyd's WWE intake.......if it were that huge amount for AT LEAST an entire year.

again, not sure how credible this source is, but again, makes much more sense:

                * Stone Cold Steve Austin earned over $5 million dollars per year in 1998 and 1999 as WWE's main star.
                * In 1987 the Road Warriors (Legion of Doom) had contracts for $500,000 per year each. This was a massive amount for that time.
                * Big Show (Paul Wight) signed a ten year contract with the WWE in 1999 at $1 million dollars per year. When he returned to the WWE in early 2008 WWE renegotiated a new deal for much less money.
                * In 1974 Andre The Giant was the highest paid wrestler in the world earning $400,000 per year.
                * Randy Savage earned around $1 million during his first WWF title reign between 1988 and 1989. He earned a similar amount in 1999 as a headliner in WCW.
                * Vince Russo was paid $500,000 per year to join WCW and leave the WWF as head writer.
                * In 1998 the WWF paid Mike Tyson $3.5 million dollars to appear at WrestleMania 14.
                * The Undertaker earns around $2 million a year currently in the WWE.
                * Shawn Michaels probably has the best deal in wrestling today earning $1.5 million per year for a limited TV and PPV only appearance based contract.
                * John Cena is the industries highest earner. He will make between $2.5 million and $3 million this year. He is the biggest seller of merchandise in the WWE, the royalties from this add to his downside guarantee.
                * Mark Henry was signed to a 10 year $250,000 per year contract by the WWE after the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. At the time this was considered a huge amount to offer an unproven rookie.
                * Brock Lesnar was signed to the biggest ever WWE development deal in 2001, $250,000 per year. Today he earns $500,000 per fight in the UFC.
                * Floyd Mayweather Jnr earned around $2 million dollars and a percentage of PPV buy rates to face Big Show at WrestleMania 24. The $20 million figure WWE stated was inflated for the purpose of the storyline.

the point is that just because it seems unbelievable, doesnt make not true.
And I quote those contracts as examples of outrages amounts of money to
athletes with seems unbelievable but it is true.
