So you said that Floyd called out Mosley even at 130. Well, Mosley was not fighting at 130. Did Floyd jump up to 147 and fight there when Mosley was there? How about when Mosley was at 154? That is what Floyd had to do if he was serious BUT knowledgeable fans got that. It would also put pressure to get a fight.
Winky:
Floyd called out Winky. He said he would KO Winky. Winky's team said OK, lets negotiate a fight.
Winky's team had agreed at all of Floyd's demands. 154 CW, OK. Floyd wanted a rehydration limit and Winky said OK. 50/50, OK.
When they(Winky) were ready to sign the contract, Floyd changes the demands again and says he wants more than 50/50.Remember that Floyd back then was not the PPV draw of today.
BACK to Mosley and Oscar:
So you say that Winky was not a realistic fight because Winky was in a different weight division but so was Mosley and Oscar.
Mosley:
If you go back and check the interviews, Mosley did say it in some of his interviews. He even said that he spoke to Floyd's team directly about it!
Secondly, you check 2007, 2008, 2009, Mosley kept on calling Floyd out. What happened? Oh yeah, Floyd said NO! That was an interested Floyd?
As for your question, no. Mosley did exactly what I told you. He wanted to fight Floyd a few months later than the November date and did. He fought Collazo sometime early February.
Floyd and mosely were seperated by 5 pounds up until shane moved up to fight rivera...thats the time floyd was calling out shane,... but what did shane do?? He elected to take a big money fight against oscar and it turned out to be his best decision.
Now floyd called out shane after his fight with judah, so theres the callout.....but mosely took the vargas rematch and koed vargas... when asked about a possible fight with floyd, he said his tooth hurt and was going on vacation...what was. Floyd supposed to do?? Wait around?? No, he fought baldi for the lineal ww title.
You dont seem to understand that in 2005 floyd and winky were seperated by 3 weight classes floyd vs gatti in june 2005 floyd was 140lbs, winky vs trinidad in july 2005 was contested at 160 lbs...if youre going to use this as a duck excuse then its safe to say pacquaio is ducking canelo...lol, right?
Floyd said no?? Why?? Maybe because he was scheduled for a fight, and possibly promoting his fight at the time?? Mosely got into the ring to callout floyd publicaly, who did floyd fight next??? Oh thats right shane mosely!!lol cmon man stop it already..Last edited by LouIE G; 01-11-2015, 06:10 PM.

Mosley said all along that his next move was to take on Oscar. So what did he do? Mosley moved up to WW to take on Oscar. Floyd did NOT do that. Floyd stayed in the lower divisions.
When Floyd took on Baldomir, he could have waited a couple of months, yes. That is if he really wanted to fight Mosley. Get it now? If Mosley had said for Floyd to have waited 6 plus more months, I would have agreed but all Floyd had to agree to fight instead of November, a few months later. It's not like November is like May Cinco de Mayo. It was just a date in the calendar. Also, as I pointed out already. Floyd fought 3 times before he retired. Each time there was someone that was considered over him. Baldomir, Oscar and Hatton. I get Oscar but if you Floyd fans say that he really wanted to fight Mosley, Floyd had a hard time showing it!
WINKY:
I understand everything. You are wrong.
What you need to realize is that it was Floyd that called out Winky and even said that he would KO Winky. So when Winky called his bluff, Floyd gave Winky his demands. Winky then said, YES, YES and YES!
When Floyd heard that Winky agreed to everything, he changed his mind and said that he wanted more money, 50/50 was off the table! So when Floyd calls out a risky match, its just talk.
BTW - You said that Winky was 3 divisions above Floyd. They were not going to fight at 160. Winky agreed to going down to 154 and not hydrating more than 8lbs. Similar to Manny going from 130 to 147 (only 1 fight at 135) and Oscar going down 3lbs from his last fight. Manny said OK and actually did it with no rehydration clause!
Mosley called out Floyd plenty of times. Not just the one that you stated.
By the time that you say "But Floyd fought Mosley", Mosley was turning 39 years OLD and was inactive for almost 1.5 years.
Here is a funny interview where Floyd is promoting to fight this version of Mosley and the interviewers know what's up. Even Floyd who is promoting the fight with Mosley admits that Floyd required a tuneup with Marquez after a break, but Mosley didn't have that. Also admitted that Mosley is OLD.
at about 4:20 min mark
Shane Mosley is a lot older so we are going to attack him ...that is our game plan.

Mosley had lines like "Floyd is growing feathers" in 2007. So to say that Floyd REALLY wanted to fight Mosley is not true.

It's all here .......:
"We agreed to 154 pounds, we agreed to another morning weight because they were concerned about the weight -- Winky couldn't gain more than eight pounds above 154."
"Floyd's been talking a lot of trash, saying he's going to knock Winky out; he told Kevin Iole he wants to fight," said Shaw. "He wanted the fight on Sunday. On Monday I went to Top Rank's office personally. My feeling is that Floyd never wanted the fight. He was just talking smack."
"When I was in Arum's office he talked about different splits," recalled Shaw, who said at that time the numbers he was told differed from the ones he had agreed to. "I started to yell, I said, 'It's gotta be 50-50.' He said, 'All right, all right. Why are you yelling? I'm just the messenger. Come back, we'll do the deal.' I walked downstairs here at the Beverly Hills Hotel, I said, 'We have a deal?' He looked at me and said, '55-45.' I said, 'No, 50-50. He said, 'There's no deal.' "
