I thought the same for awhile. Yet he was desperate to fight on with a COMPLETELY gashed bloody eye and face against Lennox Lewis.
So by that standard, perhaps the injury really was giving him jip, and his body was just telling him he'd do some permanent damage if he didn't stop. Happens sometimes unfortunately. You want to fight on with an obvious bad injury which you don't feel is too much of a problem, yet you don't with an injury less obvious to the eye, but may well have been to him.
