Prime Ike Quartey vs Miguel Cotto.

Ike Quartey is extremely underrated on these boards. I personally believe, as well as with the majority of fight fans that Ike was robbed of a victory against De La Hoya and clearly won their fight even though he had a two year lay off. Be that as it may I believe the Quartey that was terrorizing the WW division during the mid to late 90's would have had a field day with Cotto and probably would knock him out late, or have the referee stopping the fight after mutilating his face with the bazooka jab. So who would you guys pick in this match up. The Quartey that ****ed up Oba Carr, or the Cotto that stopped Zab Judah?

I wouldn't say so. Ike could box, and he had one of the best jabs ever.

I think Ike would win a decision. Cotto doesn't have too bad of a jab himself, but Ike utilized his better jab better(if that makes sense).

And I agree, I thought it was clear as day that Ike beat Oscar. Like I can't even see it any other way.

Yeah, I really have no idea how some people could have scored that fight for Oscar. I mean the rounds Quartey won were one sided, and the rounds that were close could have gone either way.

Hmm, this fight is a toss up; they are both tough SOBs, but I don't see Quartey possessing Margarito's beard.

Cotto by 11-12 round TKO honestly

If Cotto cracks Clottey's jaw then I might say it'd be over in 8-9 rounds.

But either way, it'd be money well spent; Quartey is very exciting and comes ready to play

Cotto knocking out Ike? The De La Hoya that fought Quartey was 10X the pure boxer Cotto is, and had much more power in his left hook, and mind you Ike was OUTBOXING De La Hoya in that fight, and comparing Quartey's chin to Margarito's is ridiculous, Ike had great defense hand didn't block punches with his face. FF's a shot version of Ike outboxed Vernon Forrest, and I think even that version would have beat Cotto up.

I would go with Cotto , Ike never really beat anybody not a single top fighter above say a Oba Carr level and lost all his major fights against elite opponents , his best performance was against Oscar but I see that as an underdog lifting and fighting above himself because he has nothing to lose happens all the time .

Ike was good but I doubt he could beat Cotto with all those body shots coming his way...Cotto by UD.
