WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez plans to rise to the occassion when he challenges Floyd Mayweather Jr. on July 18 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. For may years Marquez has been waiting for a fight to make his career stand out, and he says a win over Mayweather will put him ahead of the pack and force a third meeting with Manny Pacquiao. This will be brutal, unless Mayweather wants to get some rounds in because of his layoff. But he should be able to stop Marquez in about 5 rounds! The great big man always beats the great little man..

I still cannot understand how people still claim that Money will easily win this fight, the size is the only issue I see here, as far as age goes, Money ain't no spring chicken either, aren't they like only 3 years apart? the only real advantage I see is that JMM has been in more wars than Money but then again Money is not a pressure fighter and the pace of the fight will be dictated by JMM, and although he loves to brawl he's a tactical fighter who can time his shots and knows exactly where to place them, this won't be a taxing fight like it was against Diaz where he had to fight Diaz's fight at hyper speed. I'm not saying Money can't win, obviously he can, but it still fathoms me that even JMM supporters are picking Money to win big.

Because speed kills that's why. There's nothing more I would rather see than JMM beat Floyd, believe me but I just don't see JMM being able to do enough to beat Floyd with his dissadvantage in speed.

If Floyd boxes the whole night, then I think he wins a decision. If Floyd stands and brawls with JMM he would have a better chance of losing but even then I don't know if JMM can avoid the straight shots that Floyd can deliver.

JMM was hit a lot by Diaz in his last fight, Diaz isn't half the boxer that Floyd is and JMM was hurt in that fight. I just don't think JMM has a chance in this fight but I hope I'm very, very wrong.

Let me tell you this, Marquez's speed is underrated. That being said, he's still too slow for Mayweather and he usually keeps himself right in front of you, Mayweather's working on his reflexes right now and he will be very sharp, he's going to try to get MArquez to counter punch him and then counter punche those attack, Marquez can loop his punches a bit and I think Mayweather is fast enough to get inside those looping punches.

Mayweather is too sharp and too smart for Marquez. If Marquez boxes with Floyd, JMM will lose. He's gotta try to hurt Mayweather if he can. I just don't see it happening.

Mayweather doesn't care about guts, glory, wars, boxing in a phone booth. If running in the ring, shooting pot shots, getting points wins fights, then i really don't hate on the brutha. That's his style i guess.
