Billy Graham Says "Ricky Hatton Should Retire!’

By Terence Dooley - Of all the people watching Ricky Hatton lose to Manny Pacquiao in two brutally one-sided rounds last Saturday no one will have felt more sadness than Hatton’s former coach Billy Graham. For so long the training Ying to Hatton’s boxing Yang, Graham watched with a mixture of sadness and frustration as the man he still rates as one of the worlds finest boxers repeatedly walked onto Manny’s hammer blows. bla bla bla bla. I said this would happen months ago!

Why is this such a big deal. Hatton retire? No, just stop fighting the best. Go back to fighting bums in your home town. Please the fans and make some cash without being KTFO again.

Actually lets see Hatton and Judah fight.......... Hatton does NOT need to retire. He is good NOT great. When he fights a GREAT he will fail. This is easy to understand.

that has got to be the longest bull**** article i have ever read.

I saw that kostya tszyu fight. Ricky was getting tagged left & right. Kostya was very very game that night.

That was a 35 year old kostya going on 36 vs a prime young hatton. imagine what a prime kostya would have done.

Ricky is a good fighter. nothing more, nothing less.

          Pacquiao - ATG fighter
          Tsyzu - very good fighter
          hatton - good fighter
          khan - overrated contender
          katsidis - gatekeeper

          There are differences.

Graham really cares for Hatton, and to an extent I believe him. But no way in hell would Hatton at any point of his career beat Manny Pacquiao, and no matter what he says, Hatton was in great shape come fight night. I do think he should have one last fight for his fans in Manchester, but I rather see him retire.

Well said Billy. He's completely right in his view that Hatton should retire, and his insight to the problems in training camp before he was relieved of his training duties illustrate the decline of a fighter. As Ricky said it best, "the old heart ruled the head again". He should take his own advice and reverse the logic before he either:

                    A. Gets badly hurt

                    B. Loses to inferior competition and looks like an ass

                    or

                    C. All of the above.

Please retire Hatton. You were a great fighter but not an all time great unfortunately but so what? Pound for Pound is a mythical title anyway. Who really gives a ****? Be happy with your accomplishments and call it a day.
