In a huge upset, unheralded middleweight Billy Lyell (19-7, 3 KOs) surprisingly won a split decision over previously unbeaten WBO #2/WBC #4/IBF #6 middleweight John Duddy (26-1, 17 KOs) on Friday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Lyell simply outworked the sluggish Duddy to prevail 96-94, 98-92 on two cards. Duddy prevailed on the third card 97-93.
