If Mayweather is so small, why not fight JMM at 135-140?

The idea of a p4p fight is cool but surely such a fight should be at even term which should be 140 at the most. A fight above that weight gives Floyd to much advantage IMO and is an unpretty use of PBF bargaining power should it happen.

These boards aren't proof of anything. How dumb would I sound declaring Valuev as an ATG just because I heard it on these boards?

Vegas odds reflected the belief that both fights were mismatches. Not that you needed Vegas to see that.

thats why its a tune up fight though... ill be honest, id rather see floyd fight jmm at 144, then watch him fight quintana or collazo...

It's the others that put on 10+ pounds over that we can argue aren't really WW come fight-time and if we made a cap on the fight for fight-time weight or weighed fighters a few hours before the fight, how many would make weight?

Pac was 147 pounds for his lightweight battle. If JMM fights Pac again, JMM will be fighting a 147+ pound fighter. And since JMM has moved up to JrWW, he will be fighting fighters that are 147+ by fight-time.
The advantage Floyd would have is that there is a smaller chance of him coming in "flat" because he doesn't have to drain a lot of weight and then rehydrate weight for fight-time. He can take a piss, jump on the scales...make weight...and then drink a glass of water and he is set to go.

What Floyd does, which is to barely take off any weight for the scales in order to be healthy, is what all fighters should do and be ruled to do.
It's hypothetical to discuss this fight as if the weigh-in was by fighttime.

If Floyd is so little as you and others make him out to be, then it shouldn't be a problem making the fight at 140 but evidently it is.

Have you not seen the measurables? JMM is bigger or the same size as Floyd in about every category. Its not like JMM hasnt lost before anyway, the closer you get to 140, I think Floyd beats him worse, JMM should be happy for 147, but I would like to see the fight at 140 myself or thereabouts, either way its a tuneup(money fight) to set up the Pacquiao fight anyway.

Well HBO thougth the same thing, which is why Merchant had the nerve to bring up Winky Wright fighting Floyd after Floyd knocked Hatton out. People are always trying to find someone bigger for Floyd to lose to, Floyd aint losing. Floyd was a 2-1 favorite over Hatton and thats not a mismatch.

I've seen Malcolm's aka Flawless where he edited so it would appear the fight was on even terms. Malcolm got severely pwned in that thread.

                      Pull another one.
