Yeah and then he lost to Pwill. Thats a real good look to stem interest in the fight.

It all depends on how active he is during the fight. If he barely throws punches then I wouldn't give Mayweather that much credit. But if he shows up like he did against Margarito I think he wins.

That makes no sense. Either he is past his prime or isn't. Its not about how well he fights. He could just be out-matched against Floyd. What if Mayweather's skill got him untouched and made Shane look like he isn't doing anything? Doesn't mean its not the same Shane that showed up against Margarito.

Why would he fight PWill. He wont beat Williams. Im sorry. He just wont and Im a Floyd fan.

I dont blame him for ducking Margarito either. I would too. Dr Doom is a beast!

Floyd is a straight up *****.

You guys dont have aymore excuses for him!!!!!!!!!
Did you just actually try to use that as a legitimate excuse why Mosley didnt take the Floyd fight WHEN it was presented to him?

I agree with what you're saying, but he's a legit welter and until proven otherwise the top dog at 147. Marquez may rate p4p higher, and rightly so, but he only has 2 fights at 135 and none at 140 or 47. Personaly, I would criticize Floyd more for taking this fight than Mosely. Thats just me though.

but as a boxing fan and an observer of styles, Miguel Cotto
doesn't stand a chance against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sure
the fight would be fun to watch but checking how these two
guys fight & how they adapt in the ring I see Cotto getting
hit by every Mayweather punch & missing a lot of his own.
I just can't see Cotto being quick or defensive enough to
avoid a Mayweather thrashing. Judah was tagging Cotto
early & if he was able to take Miguel Cotto's power away &
keep his mental together he would have beat Cotto but we
all know Zab ain't no Mayweather.

I just think Mayweather is too smart for Cotto technically
& would Gatti/Ndou him. Antonio Margarito is/was an overrated
fighter & I think Paul/Mosley proved that. Guys like Cotto/Margarito only known for power & pressure, you take that away from them & their clueless to win. Floyd does Margarito like he did Baldomir/De La Hoya, Floyd's safety first style would give him the win. He may have not fought everyone at 147 but there is NO denying that the kid is better than all of them
I could see Cotto getting to Mayweather if he punched him in the balls a couple times early in the fight.

All I'll say is that sometimes old fighters can have a rejuvenated night, where they perform like when they were younger. I think if they both show up with a good amount of energy in the fight and aren't hurt or anything there shouldn't be any excuses. The fact of the matter is that Mosley is old and sometimes just doesn't show up like he's has in the past.

You saw Bernard Hopkins vs Pavlik or Calzaghe vs Roy jones. fighter when they're old you just dont know what to expect out of them. when they're young fighters can have a bad night, but that doesn't happen to often.

i'm sure hatton if pacquiao beats him is also a shell of his former self compared to the hatton floyd fought.

                      floyd is the greatest!

manny was p4p #1 before the oscar fight. he would have been #1 even if floyd hadn't retired.

floyd's career is a joke compared to what it could have been. he could of come out of retirement for marg after marg destroys cotto......but no. he could have come out of retirement for shane after shane schools marg......but no. he could have come out for cotto when cotto was considered #1......but no.

now you have a natural 126 guy already fighting 2 divisions above his natural weight class and floyd will come out of retirement for him IF he jumps 2 more weight divisions? lmfao

sorry ass......floyd should stay retired. his spot in canastota is secure.

right next to joe calzaghe and sven ottke.
Let me guess. Pac man fan?
