Have you seen Floyd fight in the past eighteen months? So you aren't missing anything anyway...right?

It's easy: if you don't like the fight, don't watch it. What will you be missing? How is Floyd fighting Marquez taking anything away from you as a fan?

yeah Shane, floyd was brave enough to challenge you when you were p4p#1 and a couple of weight classes below you but now that you are 39 years old and way past your prime he is very scared.

But if he's coming back at Welterweight, they want to see him fight one of the proven top Welterweights. And if he wants to come back to fight someone from a lower division, then given his fans claim he's not a natural Welterweight, the neutrals want to see those fights take place at Jnr Welterweight.
AS A BOXING FAN, I think the Mayweather-Marquez fight should take place at 140 or thereabouts.

AS A BUSINESSMAN, I would tell Marquez that if he wants to fight me, then come on up. Unless he is willing to "buy pounds". If he is not, then kick rocks.

Boxing is both a business and a sport.

Everybody talks about the old guys that Mosley or Cotto fought but every boxer fights some oldies some time including Floyd, I dont like Floyd but I still give him credit for his skills, the problem is that to be the best you really need to beat the best and if you are going to be compare to SRRobinson, then Floyd needs a lot of work. Now lets talk about Tito Trinidad or Oscar and what they did in their careers. They fought the best of their time and Tito took a lot of O's away, they lost some but fought the very best. If Floyd comes back, he need to face the best out there and then when he does, no matter if he loses to some, I garanteed his going to be consider that great fighter his suposed to be, but he needs to step in the ring and take on those guys, nothing less and till he does, he will never get the respect or the credit of being the best P4P ever, you wont get that credit by beating Gatty or Oscar, two guys past their prime and a overrated Hatton, he needs to beat at least 2 of the top right now, Mosley, Cotto, Pacman, Marquez or Berto not Williams because he is to big for Floyd and I dont care what you say, Williams dosent belong at WW.

back for Juan Manuel Marquez and Pacquiao then retiring again.
If that is the case then he should just stay retired. 130-135 Floyd
is considered a HOF right? So he's pretty much proven himself in
two weight classes. Miguel Cotto's level of comp at 140 is almost
the same as PBF's except Floyd won titles & Cotto fought for Vacant
                ones.

At 147 Cotto fought only two tough challenges Mosley/Margarito,
the rest are Judah (After Floyd), Quintana, Gomez, Jennings? now Clottey coming up. with exceptions to Mosley & now Clottey the rest of the guys were mediocre (Margarito is questionable). In my opinion Floyd has more
of a right to get some cash because his place is solidified in boxing.

                Maybe
not so much at Welter but everywhere else. Lets see what he does
                when/if he returns.
He can walk in the HOF right now, BUT he ain't a legend. I hope you are right and he found the balls and fire he had a long time ago. If so we will find out if he can be a legend. That's why he is so frustrating, and the fact that he claims to have beat the best at 140 and 147. I never said Cotto was better but he has fought much better comp than floyd above 135. Much better. So has margs, shane, Collazo, clottey(if cotto fight goes off). And pwwill. What legend had 5 supposedly lesser fighters fight tougher fights in his weight class.

Cotto/Mosley/Pacquiao, Etc.....but it's not happening now and maybe it
will or won't but bottom line the kid is nice with his and an excellent
business man. I'm reading posts where people are being very bias
towards the man because he doesn't want to fight Mosley right away
like he is really scared of this guy who ducked him when he was in his
prime? My whole thing is that you should have facts to back up your
claims. Floyd wants Marquez to move up to 147 so that means he will
be fighting there so there is a possibility if he comes back that Shane
& Cotto is gonna get it. Floyd ain't scared of these guys, why should he?
he's already winning the fight with his mental. My thing is that it is ok
to be heated because he retired early but it seems like every little Floyd
article you get is nothing but the same BS posts from different people.
The haters say he's scared. The neutral don't care whether he is or not, and doubt very much that he is, but they just want him to fight the top Welters, if he wants to fight at Welter, or to fight at Jnr Welter if he wants to fight people from lower weight classes. Above all they want him to challenge himself and be in meaningful fights.

And the past is irrelevant now, it's water under the bridge. No one but Floyd fans care about the ins and outs of the past, we just want to see the best fights being made now. And in any case, there are two sides to every story, and having read a lot of stuff from that time, giving both sides of the story, I don't think either fighter has ducked the other. The fight just didn't happen. The first time, Mosley wanted to move up and fight DLH, and why shouldn't he? The second time, he didn't want to stand in his boss's way, DLH being his boss at GBP at that time.

It's in his long term commercial interest to have some regard for the boxing fans. They pay his wages.

Also, if he cares about his legacy, and he claims to, then it's in his interests to fight him at 140.
