Right. Glad it's not only me who sees this.

BTW, I hope Hatton fans aren't offended by what I'm saying. I don't hate the man, he's alright in my book, and you certainly don't need to be the most technically gifted fighter to be a winner. Not once have I counted him out, nor should anyone else. May the best man win.

i think why people say rick has great footwork, a lot of his opponents have tryed to get away from him, and they just cant seem to shake him....his feet are some of the best in the game....and your post is starting to sound like roach...come on dude.....ricky has very good fundementals....he quit using them in previous fights...this is where floyd, sr. will be HUGE! for hatton....to refresh his basic knowledge of the game...stuff hatton already had but quit using....ricky in his early years used to throw a lot of combos and stuff....and the feetwork gets praise is because his opponents can not shake him.....mayweather couldnt even shake him....he beat ricky at his own game, with superb defense....speed wont beat hatton, defense will, and something pac even has problems with.

all hatton needs is to be able to close the distance and clinch, something that he does very well. then he can hold and hit like he always does.

I dont dislike him either at all, that style would be good I think for Pac, but you cant come straight in unless you have your hands up.

i think people are sleeping on hatton's speed, and pacquiao's power is overrated...he has NO!!! one punch KO power....hatton does have that

I always knew something looked odd and was almost irritated by it! It's like he's just moving his feet for the sake of it rather than actually doing anything smart with them. At least, how he moves can occasionally look dumb. Why does he remind me of a demented skinhead dancing? I don't know how else to describe what he does.

He does close distance quickly, and I guess some would consider this fast, smart footwork, but I don't see anything special about rushing at an opponent like this. Against Pac, I get the feeling he will use a similar style to what he's used to -- rushing in, swarming, making it rough -- but at the same time trying to use his head and out-think Pacquiao, use more head movement, attempt to pull off smart footwork, and try to create angles in order to get to Pac's body. But out of this, I see a confused style that could prove to be unsuccessful. To win, I don't think Ricky should do anything except rely on his instincts. Floyd Sr. could actually be his downfall in this fight. Ricky wll end up trying to execute a game plan like he's reading it from a book, putting in a stiff performance where he's trying too hard and having to think too much.

Of course, I could be over-analyzing it, but sometimes you need to ramble on for a minute.

                  samurai my man!

u should watch the vid JB posted here yesterday... hatton in his younger years as a fighter was a bit more technical... the footwork was solid & the head movement was superb...

he was @ his technical best however in the ben tackie fight... watch those & be enlightened a bit...

This fight will be determined on how well Pacquiao can deal with Hatton on the inside.

Ive never seen Hatton starch any good fighter with one punch either.

Body shot, but that is not a reflection of power, its more placement of punch etc.

Hatton hit Ben Tackie with the hardest shot he could come up with and Tackie never moved.
