It's rare for me to agree with King but he's right. We've been saying the same thing on here since the night of the fight. It should have been stopped, maybe in round 2 or 3, IMO. Whether or not Khan would have won is completely irrelevant.
I hope they fight again. MAB put Guerrero to shame.
I don't. Barrera will be embarrassed and his career ended by somebody not worthy of doing so. The guy is shot; I just don't see how anyone can fool themselves otherwise - although, of course, he will be shot after he gets beaten again, to deny Khan any credit.
As to King, mathed makes an excellent point - why now and not on the Monday after the fight? We can guess the answer, King was a) sending out feelers for a credible opponent for Barrera that might lead to a title shot - and not finding one and b) trying to get a piece of Khan should he travel to the US for his next couple of fights, and failing. A rematch is the best fight for Barrera he can get, and would extract the last drop of milk from the rather leaner than hoped for cash-cow. And Warren should tell him where to go and go get Prescott for Khan.
Call it a NC, fine, if it's really necessary to deny Khan the victory... but beyond that just let it go. Please don't pretend that, while he might KO the infamously glassy chinned if he got lucky, Barrera is a serious contender any more. He has nothing to prove, and it's time to retire.
I know right? I mean, especially since they fought in Khan's area, of course they'd pull that disgusting cut bull**** just to give their biggest hype job a W.

I said this at another boxing site the night of the fight: Barrera has no one to blame but himself for the result of the match. He knew that the doctors were already concerned about the cut by the way they were examining it and asking him if he wanted to continue or could continue. They stopped it in the fourth rd again and asked him, yet he continued.
I get it, he is a warrior who would never quit and I respect that...but look what happened. He was, as has been mentioned, in Khan's back yard so why would you ever let your fate rest in the hands of those guys? All he had to say to the doctor and ref when they asked him if he could continue was exactly what he chose to say after the fight, "I could not see because the blood was in my eye" and the fight would have been called a ND right there....just like Guerrero did in his fight (even though people seem to think he blew Guerrero away by being a warrior instead of being smart) but this is really a matter of personal opinion.
If he had swallowed his pride, he would certainly be granted a rematch and could have fought another day. You let someone else control your destiny, then you deserve to be where you are!!
