Asking him to face both Cotto and Shane is too much to ask, trust me and if he faught either one of them, without both having faced eachother, there will be excuses

When the Mayweather-Judah fight was made, Judah was the the lineal and Ring champion. Judah lost his tune-up for that fight, so Mayweather also fought the guy who beat him, who was the lineal and Ring champion when he fought him.
Come on, there are plenty of valid criticisms that can be made of Floyd, there's no need to make up fictitious ones!

Originally posted by JAB5239 View PostCome on Dave, lets look at his resume since moving to 147 a little more closely. He fought and old Sharmba Mitchell his first fight at 147. Thats fine, every fighter should test the waters before jumping in the pool. He then fought a talented but inconsistant fighter who just lost his titles to a journeyman. Next he fought the journeyman who had just beaten the talented but inconsistant fighter. After that he moved up to get his huge money fight against a part time but still somewhat tough fighter. After that he came back to 147 to fight a guy who nearly lost the only other time he fought at 147 and admitted it wasn't the right weight for him. Like I said.....he's developed a pattern of not fighting the best since coming to welterweight.
The journeyman was the lineal champ when they fought each other; and he wasn't generally considered to be a journeyman at that time. Some boxing experts said they thought it would be a pick 'em fight.
The part time but still somewhat tough fighter was the WBC Jnr Middleweight champ at that time, and because Floyd was moving up in weight to fight him, it was considered by many to be a very risky fight for him at the time.
The only fight I would criticise in that list is the Hatton one, and even that would have been okay, IMO, if he'd fought Cotto immediately afterwards.

I just don't like the guy. But I can also be reasonable and talk rationally about skill, talent and a fighters place in history whether I like them or not. Floyd will get his rightful place in history by stepping up to the plate sooner rather than later. Personaly I don't think he loses to any of these guys (I give Cotto the best shot) but that doesn't mean he shouldn't fight them. Doesn't mean he should get a pass because he hasn't been fighting them all along either.
