To be honest, I believe that Mosley knew something wasn't right in the BALCO case when he prepared for the second DLH fight. He admitted as much when he said it probably wasn't legit but went along with it anyway. At the time it wasn't as black and white as it is now when you consider how many people get busted with "performance enhancing" substances like many UFC fighters are turning up with in their drug test reports. Baseball is the same way, and during the same time. The fact is, any time you have millions of dollars on the line and a reputation to be upheld you are going to have people that will do all in their power to bend the rules and insure they perform. It's simply a sad aftermath of success in sports. No one is immune to this, and the athletes have to make a choice in consideration of their own well being as well as their families, and they get caught up in an endless game of "well if im not doing it someone else it, and I can't be as good if I don't do it too". Does this make them immune for breaking the rules? No, absolutely not. I personally believe Mosley had the best of intentions here, he seems like a consummate professional and is one of my favorite fighters based on accomplishments, merit, and personal desire to be the best fighter there is, and has furthermore not had ANY problems in the years since.
Having said all that, in response to your question, Trinidad was suspected by MANY fighters over the years to have loaded wraps. I don't believe he used plaster, but it seems suspect so many fighters doubted his power. Was he a great puncher and a great fighter? Yes on both counts. Valero was banned by his MRI results showing a brain bleed in his youth from a motorcycle accident. I'm no brain surgeon but brain bleeds are not something to be trifled with. If it can be proven that no longer exists than Valero should be excused from this harsh ban in my opinion. Margarito should suck it up and accept his ban, fair or not, if only to prove he doesn't need loaded wraps to win. If I was him I would say you know what fine, I'll sit out, get pissed, and let my wrath when I come back show I'm as badass as everyone thought I was when I come back, and that's a real fighter. Life sucks sometimes, but the people who face it down and prove it 10x more when they come back earn respect, going around the harsh penalties makes you a *****, not a champion.

The only reason it came out was because he was under oath during a grand jury and admitted to using the "clear" in 2006. I dont know anyone in history of steroid use got suspended 3 years after the fact. Thanks for playing.Last edited by Tha_Greatest; 03-07-2009, 12:42 AM.

Well, I think Mosley had enough balls to say he was wrong at least. Margarito pleaded the fifth. That isn't cajones, that's taking a weak route out of a bad situation in my opinion. Had Margarito said "I feel I'm not at fault here and I'm a real fighter who earns his living the respectful and honorable way and my team let me down somehow and I don't like the ruling but I'll abide by it" then that's a different story. He didn't, and instead chose to burn all the bridges he has spent years building by fighting his way to the top. This is wrong from start to finish. Right or wrong, you face the penalty and come back strong. Fighting in TJ and saying "Blow me" to the ban is effectively ruining your chances to get a good payday. Can it happen elsewhere than the US? Yeah, if you are Joe Calzaghe, Ricky Hatton, and the Klitschkos. Sorry, but Mexico isn't exactly the land of paydays, unless you are in La Eme and even they are getting put to the test and worked over by the drug enforcement agencies. This is simply a ****** move on Margarito's behalf, and the term "Can't see the forest for the trees" has never rang more true.

If its a ****** move on Margaritos part, and you don't respect him,
why do you even care?
