    Can Juan Diaz Bounce Back?

I think the deck is stacked against him due to his ultra-aggressive style. Guys like Dempsey, Marciano, Tyson were all past it by their late-20s and you wonder how much of himself Diaz is going to want to keep giving. This is a guy in Diaz that has other options in life, this sport is brutal.

Diaz has shown that he can't cope with adversity, notably the cuts, or make adjustments like the best fighters in the world can. Marquez won because he was able to make adjustments early and pull rabbits out of his hat where Diaz kept fighting the same fight all night. Once he got tired and cut, he couldn't maintain his same style of fighting.

In his two defeats, to Campbell and Marquez, he has shown that win or lose, he's going to live and die with the style that he fights. He's got a lot of miles on him for a young fighter, a lot of tough fights, even the wins.

I personally don't know if he'll ever be able to compete at the highest level of the sport, though he can stay in Houston and make a lot of money taking fights on a level just below where he has been fighting.

Yes, he is young and still has great fights left in him.

He can stick around but not fighting the level of competition he has been.

That was a pretty rough beating. Both JMM and Nate Campbell have put it on Juan Diaz now.

I think he can fight at his normal level, but I think the best of the best will always beat him.

When he's fought limited guys like Julio Diaz and Acelino Freitas, the fringe champions, he's been dominant. Guys like Marquez and Campbell, real rugged guys who won't back down, those guys are not flustered by activity. I think Diaz can fight guys like whoever wins the lightweight tournament, but the top tier like Pacquiao, Marquez, even Hatton will usually beat him.

He'll get to where he was, but he'll never make that leap into the elite group.

He'll be a very good entertaining fighter, and that's good enough for me. Dude fought a great fight and showed a ton of heart. I'll always tune in to a Diaz fight.

He might give up the sport and pursue law or something. It sucks for him because he fought a great fight against the #2 p4p fighter in the world and was winning at the time of the knockout. He does have a bright future if he continues with the sport, but something tells me he might try other things.

diaz has come up short 2 times against the best fighters he's ever faced... he's not A+, but he's an A fighter.

no, i bet that eye will get cut in every fight from now on.....they were also saying earlier that he might drop boxing for school......he also needs to realize that he cant take body punches with his current conditioning....if he learns to adjust maybe with a new trainer and gets better conditioning its possible...
