Of course he can. He's still young and a very good fighter, on top of that, there is absolutely no shame in losing to Juan Manuel Marquez.

He is still very young at 25 years old and has 5 good, prime years left in the sport so yes he can definitely bounce back. But I do agree in terms of him having already reached his potential and not being able to win fights at the elite, upper echelons of the sport.

He'll be a very good entertaining fighter, and that's good enough for me. Dude fought a great fight and showed a ton of heart. I'll always tune in to a Diaz fight.

them last 3-4 rights to the chin before the first knock down, then that uppercut in the 2ND knockdown? he has Vargas written all over him...

Once a fighter who fights as aggressively as he does gets cracked, something is usually lost in them. Sometimes it's their heart, they become more timid and lack confidence in their durability, but very rarely they come back the same fighter.
It's not the same as a boxer who relies on movement and defense, because they can avoid the punches. A fighter like Diaz simply cannot avoid the punches.

He is 25 but I don't think he needs 5 more years of this.
