Split the difference and say 14 million, and offer him the big chunk of upside. If his ears perk up maybe you have something, if not well atleast you know what his demands are so you do not have to waste anyones time going forward.

It's obvious that the rumors of Floyds money issues may be true. Manny is the bigger draw, for one, and he's on the scene and beating everyone's ass. Don't expect a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in the near future. Recently Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions had reached out to Mayweather's advisor, Al Haymon, and tried to put together a deal for a bout between Mayweather and Shane Mosley. Schaefer made an offer of $8 million dollars. Mayweather would respond with an extreme counter - a request for a guarantee of $20 million dollars. [details]

He made $8 million plus a percentage of the pay-per-view to fight Carlos Baldomir. That was before the De La Hoya and Hatton fights. Whether they like it or not, Mayweather is the big draw right now. His guarantee for the Hatton fight was $40 million and he would make at least that much in a rematch against Hatton. They shouldn't have even called with less than a $10 million guarantee. It would take at least a minimum guarantee of $14 million to get him back against Moseley or Pacquaio.

To be some what objective, The longer Floyd stays gone the longer boxing get use to being without him... That is just the reality of the sport. The demand for him to come back is at its peak right...
But if Floyd thinks this his Stock will stay this higher forever.. then goodluck Floyd.

Personally I want to see him fight, **** the money right now.. I mean cause everybody money flow has slowed up and Floyd should be no exception ... I think 12-15 million is the right kind of money for a fight with Floyd.... But IMO, What he should do is Bosshog the PPV Split Something like 70-30, and the fight terms do same day weigh ins...and add Major $$$$ Fines for coming over weight or under weight...

How can you blame Floyd for wanting 20MIL when Schaeffer only offered him 8MIL? They want him to come out of retirement to fight there guy for $ & status so why would they go to Floyd trying to low ball him then getting mad at him when he doesn't take it? This is big business and I learned never to take the first offer someone gives you and to set your standards high and have the people interested meet you in the middle.

I don't feel Floyd is scared to fight anyone, I just feel that he wants to get paid properly to fight them. He already got 20MIL with Oscar & 15+ for Hatton possibly 20MIL, so that's two fights in a row where the kid got PAID. Is he supposed to settle for 8MIL? Schaeffer & Arum know what it is, that $ is worth the investment especially if they feel Mosley/Manny can beat PBF right?
