You ain't gonna find a fighter who can match his skill level. Although I still find him fun to watch, Floyd isn't as entertaining as he used to be, due to moving up to 147...At 130-140 he was way more offensive. I remember reading an article, this was months after the DLH fight, where Floyd said if he were to return he'd like to fight at Jr WW

Mosley wouldnt see that right hand coming.

People tend to remember the last thing you did in the ring, which for Floyd was the highlite reel ending to the Hatton fight.

Sugar Ray Leonard eye thing, you do not remember the retirement thing he did where he called Hagler into the ring and say it would be a great fight but...... it is never going to happean. Then deicded to come back to fight Hagler then fight off and on for a long time after.

Also bringing up Oscar and Sugar Ray only proves my point you have to bring up 2 of the most popular boxers in recent memeory to say they are better.

Knowing him for any reason is a positive, WWE, Dancing with the Stars. Why would you expect MMA fans to give a boxer a ton of respect, asking the wrong people about Floyd, imo.

I'm not dis*****g that he isn't a celebrity what I'm dis*****g is that he is somehow this immensly popular fighter that can be recognized by Boxing and non boxing fans alike. What I'm dis*****g is that he's this A list star that schmoozes with the hollywood elite and was at one time considered a National hero.

Those are the types of fighters that command 20 million for a fight and Floyd is nowhere near that level of popularity.

And as usual it's all speculation since floyd will never actually step in the ring to actually prove your theory.

You're right, but that's for the fighters themselves, and thier financial advisors to worry about. Not the fans. Why are certain fans condoning the act of certain fighters avoid certain opponents in exchange for a lesser risk opponent who brings in more money? For that, dont even be a fan of the sport if you're not interested in seeing the best fight the best.

As far as boxers today he is one of the most well known, I stand by my point. I would not call him an A lister, but he has a lot of A-listers that watch him fight, Denzel seemed pretty happy when Floyd knocked Hatton out.

I completely disagree, Floyd is worth 20 million because nobody plays a bad guy roll like him. Everybody wants to be the good guy, but when 2 good guys fight where is the drama? Drama during the buildup is what really sells fights to the general public.

Good vs Bad sells a lot better then Good vs Good.

He is not a national hero, but you do not need to be that to be good at selling PPV fights.

Understanding why certain things happean makes you not a fan? I would say not understanding a fighters point of view limits your ability to understand boxing.

You can live in some fantasy world where money does not play a factor, but in the real world where I watch boxing I like to understand why things take place.
