I seriously, seriously doubt these are the SAME, EXACT handwraps he used for the Cotto fight, he had officials checking him wrap his hands. Plus, I would rather wait for an official statement from the C(N)SAC to comment than on some random poster's thread on krikya360.comLast edited by AztecWanker; 02-25-2009, 05:46 PM.

Officials checked Margarito's wraps for the Mosley fight and signed them off as fine. Then hard substances were found on them, one official wouldn't credit this, and someone else had to come in to help seize the wraps.
It isn't some random guy, if you read it's the LA times, and other sources. There's numerous legit photo's of all the fights all over the net and this thread links to another collating just some.

To the people who say "Well Margarito took his gloves off, so that's why he didn't have them in there"
Look at the illegal handpad, it's only like 2x1. They passed it on Che Guvarra, a normal person in the ring wouldn't see it. The plaster-like substance is blood stain, he would stay even if they washed it. They wouldn't wash it though because it would probably expand to be massive. They probably just let it wet a little to wash it. I'd be surprised if they didn't wash it though. Why would you?

I suspect that Margarito has been cheating for years, probably for 90% of his career....ever since he went on that incredible win streak....he lost lie 3 of his first 5 fights or something (I know he was young, but..)then he wins like 30 or something straight. As soon as they discover the wraps, he gets demolished-just like way back in his career.

I just watched back the PW fight with Marg, and I noticed some peculiar comments in the commentary. Lampley I think it was, during the walk in said something to the effect of "not a flashy technical boxer, not a very hard puncher". Then during the fight said with 8oz gloves instead of 10oz some thought they'd be a KO but neither guy can hurt the other. Then Merchant I think it was, said "previous Tony opponents have said his shots have a 'thudding' effect.
I'm not summarising anything but further oddities, how often do you hear things like this said during fights, and sometimes contradicting, it's just odd. One minute he's a hard puncher the next he's not. It's clear there's a lot or irregularities and I'm concerned it's already conveniently going quiet in the media whilst they apparently spend a month just testing the wraps.Last edited by Kris Silver; 02-25-2009, 06:07 PM.
