he's just brutally straight forward and serious, which i can respect a lot in a world where it's now all about acquiring fame and stardom. he gets in the ring and gets the job done. Job.. done, that's what it is to him, his job, and he's talking to the accountants or HR guys. that's all it is to him, that's what i get out of it at least.
He has been more willing to talk this days. he have een very outspoke this days. May be hell be more vocal from now on but, dont expect him to be a Mayorga type trashtalker, or a Gayweather self glorifiyng Talker.
I like him the way he is, he atleast dont give that DLH gay ass smile. Wich is a ****ing fake smile!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now don't get me wrong, I like Cotto and his very entertaining to watch and currently my favorite fighter right now. But daym are his interview awful, all his answers are systematic and predictable. I just can't explain it, but this guy doesn't seem to have a personality, he never has an opinion or something interesting to say. And it's very annoying.
Plus, this will be very difficult for him if he wants to become a household name or become a very big draw.
Cottos interviews in English or Spanish? He's not very charasmatic, but in english he's not able to express himself at the best of his abilities.
He seems pretty mellow and shy most of the time. Not everybody is comfortable in front of the camera. He still seems to have a quiet confidence the way he carries himself though. Just dont watch his interviews....
And the recycled answers have a lot to do with his inability to speak fluent english, I'm sure.
Surely we would all like him more if he was like Mike Tyson? I will eat your children you dont have etc or maybe it would be better if he were more like Paulie Malignaggi who's every other word is "you know what I mean" or Zab Judah who's every other word is 'You know what I'm sayin' People are just angry because they can't make fun of Miguel because he never puts his foot in his mouth and he's not a clown like Mayweather Jr.
