    HBO's poorly commentated on fights

HBO's poorly commentated on fights, what are they? first let me say i prefer HBO commentary too Skypsports, but sometimes they do a poor job, when the guy that wins is not the guy they wanted to win the fight.

    Hatton vs Mayweather
    Foreman vs Moorer

However even when they do favour a fighter they can still do a poor job. Watching Pavlik vs Miranda the commentary on Skysports was very exciting, but when i watched the HBO version it was no where near as exciting. I think Skysports did a better job on Taylor vs Pavlik 1 aswell, ironically enough.

Did they do a good job of Pavlik vs Hopkins ? because it seemed like they felt like the wrong guy won their too.

    Hopkins-Taylor I

    De La Hoya- Whitaker

A lot of times it's just Jim Lampley's fault.

The HBO team seem to talk alot about the fighters during the fight, rather than the fight itself, commenting on shots after they happen rather than when they happen, opposed to the Skysports team.

Yeah that is the worst case of nuthugging ive heard from Jim Lampley. The guy is clearly a DLH fanboy.

Yeah that guy goes from one extreme to another, he builds up Paul Williams something chronic like he is Hearns,Whitaker and Henry Armstrong rolled into one.

I don't usually hate on the HBO lads, but there have been a few fights which left me a bit frustrated as to how they called it...

Hatton vs Castillo - they kept saying Hatton was initiating the holds. Fuck off! Then, after all the favourable build-up showcasing Hatton, they completely downplay his efforts the moment he hits that body punch. Castillo was shot, Hatton looked sluggish, he still hasn't done enough to impress the American crowds, yada yada.

RJJ vs Kelly - how can 3 commentators be so fucking silent when a guy scores a KO like that??!! *******s. I know he was a bum, but still... Give credit to Roy for doing what he did, like nobody else could. Hands behind the muddafkkin back!!!

I think George Foreman was the most biased. He always backed the champion but he had know clue what he was talking about. It sounded as though he had money on some fights.

Lampley's call of Margarito-Cotto was one of the worst I have ever heard.

I never really mind commentary even if its inaccurate. You cant expect them to be unbiased for every fight, theyre human. I never pay that much attention to commentary anyway. Ill scoff at one of their comments every once in a while, but I get over it pretty quick.
Id rather have an inaccurate guy who gets real excited during the fight rather than a fairly accurate guy who is very dull, personally.

but I have to admit, I started laughing when Kellerman was calling Paul Williams Thomas Hearns with Julio Cesar Chavez's body attack and Pernell Whitaker's southpaw stance. haha, you nut.
