If you watch the Cotto fight, it is CLEAR that Cotto was very almost traumatized by the blows Margarito was landing. Plaster will have that effect.

Cotto took Mosley's best shots for 12, took Torres shots and came at him... yet with Margarito, he was oddly, gun-shy. It becomes evident when you watch the replay that Cotto was in "new waters" and it had nothing to do with pressure, it had to do with him being overly cautious due to new circumstances.

Margarito no doubt cheated in 70% of his fights. Perhaps after 5 losses, he knew he needed something new: Plaster.

I said before and I will say it again, margarito does not like to be punched. He will freeze up in the center of ring as he was doing with Clottey, Mosley and anyone else who kept him the center and punched him in the face. Cotto was unable to carry this out because Margarito's plaster did not afford him that luxury.

For those claiming Mosley hits harder... not too fast there. Mosley had the benefit of fighting forward as Margo's wraps were legal and not loaded. Cotto fought a loaded Margarito

Cotto had to fight off the back foot when throwing his shots. Cotto also believed Margarito when Marg smiled at him. Mosley wasn't having the "I am a macho I love punches in my mouth!" routine. Mosely gave him more, and left him smiling at the Corona logo in the cent of the ring. Notice Margarito forgot to stop smiling while he fell??

Cotto fought uncharacteristically due to Margarito's loaded plaster wraps.

Also, Margarito was hurt in round 1 against Mosley.. His chin was definitely softened up by the Cotto fight.

Props to Miguel for fighting 11 rounds with plaster-macho.

We'll see what happens man. I ain't jumping to conclusions ready to burn Margarito at the stake. I do think he fought Cotto with loaded gloves but that's very hard to prove so I'm not gonna go crazy projecting my opinions on others.

It's just as annoying for a Cotto fan to say that **** about Margarito as it is for any other fan to say some BS about Cotto being a quitter. Take it easy, bro. Cotto will show everyone what he can do in the rematch and that will shut most of the haters up.

On another note, KingChile should be put to death immediately.

Watch the Margo vs Cotto fight again.

If margo had loaded gloves or not the outcome would have been the same. Margo went to the body early and none of Cotto's punches did anything to him. Cotto threw everything but the kitchen sink and Margarito still went forward. Cotto IS NOT a power puncher, he methodologicaly breaks his opponents by inflicting accumulative damage. Cotto weared down by his lack of stamina and the body punches that Margo landed. The other flaw with Cotto was that Cotto did not clinch and thought his speed was enough, he also bent down to much and let too many uppercuts slip through while he decided to fight on the ropes.

It was a bad gameplan for team Cotto. Another factor is look at the physical advantage Margo had over Cotto:
          Cotto Margo
          5’ 8” HEIGHT 5’ 11”
          69” REACH 73”

Mosley had the reach advantage against Margarito. In the end plaster or not Cotto lost and nothing changes that. Mosley had a great game plan and exposed Margarito for what he was, a B level fighter who preyed on smaller opponents. No wonder he ducked the Paul Williams rematch.

            1) you dont know if margo had plaster in his gloves for the cotto fight, no one does except margo's handwrapper

            2) cotto was not gunshy, he threw everything but the kitchen sink at margarito and couldnt hurt him.

            3) cotto lost to margo because he gameplan and stamina ******

            4) styles make fights

              ^^^^
Once again you spew idiocy, why dont you wait till the burden of proof is legitimized? just cuz Cotto couldnt hurt marg doesnt mean another fighter couldnt. i honestly think that the Cotto/Marg fight took a lot out of Marg and it'll be interesting to see how Cottos does when he fights a legit/threat ww, not this pansy in jennings. But if Jennings is able to give it to Cotto then you know that figrst fight took everything out of them

mosely was the stronger dude, that's why he could execute it. It's not like the 5'7 Cotto could just stand there and say "Oh ill make you pay"
