They 100% hurt boxing. Those are the fights that get shown in bars and have the chance to earn some new fans for the sport. When one guy whips the other guys ass for the whole fight casual fans wont even finish watching it. Which is sad because there havent been many competitive "big" fights for a while.

They don't help much, but it's better when the underdog whips the ass of the favorite like Pacquiao-DLH and Mosley-Margarito.

Its anti climatic/boring PPV's that hurt the sport because it is the casual fan who PPV's are produced for.
If a fight is hyped as hell and produced PPV, and it turns out to be an exhibition for one fighter, people are going to feel that they didn't get their money's worth. Its as simple as that.
Co-sign. Cats can live down a blowout as long as they didn't shell out good $ for it.

Fights that don't live up to the hype destroy boxing.
eg:
DLH vs Mayweather "The World Awaits"
So many non boxing fans watched that sparring session.
