The only thing I can say is MMA and boxing do NOT appeal to the same crowd. If Oscar or any other promoter wants to try and mix the two together it just wont work. I know a lot of MMA fans and they dont like boxing at all.
american boxing fans are mainly working class, mostly hispanic but also black white- just normal people

This pisses me off I was able to booooooo Oscar at the Staples Center, then I find out he wasn't even there. Merchants comment on the Mosley Margo fight was hilarious when they said Oscar was getting 5 million to be at the MMA event. He said they would have to pay him that much to go to one of those events LOL!!!

The Mosley fight was all about Suga Shane. De La Hoya being there wouldn't have made much of a difference. And if they are that good of friends I'm sure Shane would have known in advance that Oscar would not be there.
