definitely it is a mistake for all the reasons that shaw and arum stated.

also if gbp and affliction take on ufc and fail, dana white can spin it so that boxing takes a hit as well since gbp is one of the bigger boxing promtional company.

its just too much money to invest to succeed.

what other mainstream fighters do affliction have other than fedor???

I agree with Arum. There's just no way he'll be able challenge the UFC, but I don't believe it's disloyal to boxing.

I dont understand how EVERY SINGLE TIME I seen Oscar at a live event he get's booed by the fans, but yet he was the Golden goose when it came to selling PPV's.

I feel the same way, so many people can't stand ODH, but he still sells. The two old men are just bitter b/c they think ODH got paid 5 million. The only time I saw ODH lake a big loss, was when he got that beatdown by Pac.

Arum is right and is imparting his wisdom. It seems like a move motivated by money alone and not passion and that is a dead end road for Golden Boy. Plus, not being on his partners side is not good no matter the scheduling issue...perhaps Golden Boy thinks MMA is the future of combative sports? If so its motivated by anxiety about the future of boxing and it should reconsider its devotion because frankly it will dillute the appreciation of boxing in its pure form.

Only time will tell, I personally think it could be successful for GP, but I hope that they don't abandon boxing as their first priority..they gave us a good event last Saturday, and am pretty sure they can do it again. We need events like this for ppl to take note of boxing.
