Marg is to big for him, trying to outpoint a man with a 15cm reach advantage and keeping him off you for 12 rounds would be to much IMO
Cotto would keep him at bay with rock solid jabs all night
how big was john ruiz's reach adv. against roy jones? one thing we know is that pac is fast as ****, margarito is slow as ****. not saying pacman will win, but i definitely won't say he definitely won't win. styles make fights.

Margarito is tough, he's already proven that (if something). However, his recent string of knockout victories (Johnson, Cintrón and Cotto) makes me wonder (just a little) if many of us are just getting caught up in the fever and saying he'll just bulldoze through anything. He can take a punch, there's no question about that. But what if he's in there with someone who moves swiftly and strikes suddenly?

Antonio's stance is so inviting to the head that people get caught up into believing that they can knock him out. He gets caught plenty but never budges. Honestly, when was the last time Margarito was wobbled?

When I watched the Pacquiao-DLH fight and Lampley started to talk with Larry about the possibility of Pac-Margarito, I thought that they were getting carried away with it.

Margarito/DLH(Chin): Margarito has the better chin

Margarito/DLH (Workrate): Margarito throws close to a 1,000 punches in nearly any fight (assuming it goes the distance)

    Margarito/DLH (Stamina): Margarito (See workrate)

Margarito/DLH (Power): Margarito ("The punishment has accumulated to the point where Cotto has nothing left!")

If this happens, God help Pacquiao. If he somehow pulls it off yet again, just......wow. I would be completely speechless.
i've always thought a quick, smart "boxer" would beat margarito. use your speed, footwork, head-movement, and boxing ability, and you'll be fine. alot of ppl are caught up in the margarito "hype." he's good, takes a great punch, but margarito doesn't do damage w/ 1 punch, it takes many, many punches to do the job for him. what happens when he fights a guy he can't catch?
margarito is not indestructable, and definitely not unbeatable.

that's assuming margarito is an ATG, which he is not. it'd be a HUGE, HUGE, win & a HUGE, HUGE upset......but calling him the GOAT b/c he uses his quickness and boxing ability to beat a bigger guy who has neither, is taking it a lil too far.

the fight won't be as "entertaining" as many ppl think, pacman may do a lot of "running," but that's the type of fight he'll have to turn it into to win.....

roy jones-john ruiz wasn't a "great" fight, but roy used all his advantages the right way, and there was nothing the bigger, stronger, yet slower ruiz could do. pacman comes in disciplined, and in great great shape, he has a chance.

over the last year, i've learned not to discount anybody before the fight even takes place.....

this is just hype so pac has some leverage against pbf once negotiations start.

Yeah, but Pac's team claimed they'd been in talks with Mayweather, when the Hatton deal appeared to be dead.

Ruiz's work rate is exceptionally low, Margarito's is exceptionally high. Ruiz is the opposite of a pressure fighter, he throws a lead and immediately clinches; Margarito is a extremely intense pressure fighter, adept at cutting off the ring and at avoiding clinches. So I don't think your analogy works.

PacMan is really ambitious and i wish him the best. My kids are half filipino so i see the effect he has, even on the non boxing Filipino fans. All of a sudden they are all boxing experts when a few years ago they went to the bars to play pool instead of watch the fight. My wife is already buying the PPVs before i even ask if i can buy it, Married guys understand. So as mad as i am that he seems to beat all my mexican heroes or avoiding Marquez(had to get that in there) i have to admit he is bringing in alot of casual fans into the sport, and more than just English fans. Even on here i see a few women and from their fake pictures, which are nice, that dont strike me as die hard boxing fans ready to stab someone over Manny but i get the feeling they might. And with his selection of fights and bad negotiating skills he May be the Boxer that is not only Talked about for Years to come but actually deserves it. We may be seeing a once in a lifetime legend and the only thing that bothers me is that he is not Mexican. It Happens and i will move on and will root for Manny against Hatton for taking it easy on my Mexican brothers lol and cause even though im praising Manny now, i still want a Mexican to be the One to Beat Him......Either Way i still have my Son Who is now interested in Boxing Because of Manny to Maybe be the next Mexican/Filipino Hybrid. i think i would rather him play Pool for that Money than challenge the Few guys he wants to fight...But for Now GO PACMAN

But having gone public like that about it (it wasn't Pac who went public, it was Roach), I don't see how he could refuse to take part if it really came off. I don't think it's likely to be just a bluff to lure Mayweather, because if Mayweather didn't get lured by it, and the bluff got called, Pac would look ****** if he then avoided the fight with Marg, and would be accused of being a chicken. So I'm puzzled by it all.
Puzzled is not a problem if the price is right. And no it was Pac who insisted he can beat Marg.

Right, beating DLH at welter does not make Pac a force in the division. Both Cotto and Margarito would have murdered the Delahoya Manny fought on Dec 6th.

According to krikya360.com, it was Roach who went public about it, not Pac:
"According to Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, not only does Manny want to fight Margarito in the future - he believes that he can outbox the Mexican warrior. Speaking with boxing scribe Ron Borges, Roach says Pacquiao would not be worried about Margarito's physical advantages.

“Manny wants to fight Margarito,’’ Roach said. “Manny thinks he can outbox him. Margarito is a big welterweight. He’d have a lot of advantages physically but Manny doesn’t really worry about that. I don’t know but he believes he can beat him.""

it shows that he underestimated Manny Pacquiao like everyone else ****in did!!! Anyways Pacquiao would be crazy to fight Margarito because now he would do what everyone thought Oscar would do he would harass him all fight long nonstop! Now Cotto-Pacquaio is very intriguing to me and i honestly think i would favor Pacquiao to win...
