Because Bob Arum told Pacmans "advisers" that to ask for 60/40 was utterly and completely ******ed and he was only getting 50/50 because Arum is the best in the world at squeezing the best out of a deal.

what i do know is that Pacman had 1 fight go over 1/2 M PPV buys and oscar was in it. He can't command anything and truthfully hatton was being nice in given him 50-50. Hatton could have respectfully asked for 60-40 and rigthfully so.

Good Deal for the fans. It is a great match on paper, hopefully it will be non stop action with Pacquiao knocking out Hatton.

Good Deal for Pacquiao, at least he's getting half of the U.K. PPV money unlike Floyd Mayweather's deal with Hatton.

It seems odd that Arum wouldn't have told Pac's team about the UK PPVs earlier ...

... and Arum needed to find a face saving formula to enable Pac's team to back down without looking like they were backing down ...

... so maybe Arum's explanation that Pac's lawyer hadn't realised that they'd get half the UK PPV was really a face saving formula.

We'll never know of course, but if so, it shows Arum's deal-making skill. It seems more likely to me than having to believe that Arum forgot to tell Pac's team about the UK PPV before.

i think greed got to them but also did it coz its manny's last year. i think i would've done the same thing and squeeze as much as i can from them, specially if im retiring. i mean there's nothing wrong with trying to get more money right? its just that, it hella made it seem like manny became more greedier and greed gets to a lot of people specially with the fame and all. PLUS manny's advisors are prolly going to get fired soon just coz he's moving onto being the next president of the philippines lol meaning, they trying to get as much as they can also. but yeah, its JAT. i think those are the main reasons why all this happened. overall, manny's still a great person.
