I like Tony a lot, he's a great fighter who deserves respect, but you're dreaming if you think he deserves to be fighter of the year.

the PACMAN is the man of 2008. no one else gets close to his achievements this year considering he started at 106 lbs!! thats ****ing 106 lbs!!...he did something special which cannot be mimicked easily by anyone.

That was Pacman at 16. Mayweather at 16 was also 106 fighter but he beat Oscar at 154 while Oscar weigh over 160 pounds come fight night

I knew Mayweather would creep into this thread somehow...

nah... Pacquiao should defintely get it:

            he beats Juan Manuel Marquez

destroys David Diaz for the WBC strap in his 1st ever fight at 135

then moves up, what? 2 or 3 weight classes and completely outclasses DLH and makes him quit on his stool?!

            2008 was Pacquiaos year

I would have to go with Pacquaio.

                1.Pac
                2.Margarito
                3.Hopkins
                4.Calzaghe

Hopkins over Calzaghe because it was a real close fight to begin with but BHOPs victory over Pavlik is greater IMO than Joes over Roy.

PAC and it ain't even close.

When Margarita gathers enough balls, and faces P - Will or J. Clottey or do what PAC has already done, which is move up two divisions and tear it up.

If Margarita jumps to 160lbs in '09 and beats Pavlik in a decisive manner, then he's got my vote.

dude you keep on insisting that weight issue, Pac was only 90+ pounds when he fought at that age and they were cheating the weigh ins for him to qualify.
