Pacquiao takes this for one simple reason. He not only won against Delahoya but gave him a beatdown like trailer trash parents beatdown their red headed step child. He proved just about every boxing expert wrong by going into uncharted waters and giving the bigger man an A$$ whooping. He also fought in 3 weight classes in 1 year. If Pacquiao dont get fighter of 08' then I will never watch boxing again and turn my interest to WWE.

Relax buddy, you can say the same thing about Tony going into the Cotto fight. And he didn't have any close calls like Pacquiao did with Marquez. It wouldn't be a travest either way.

One big win over Cotto and all of a sudden Margarito is fighter of the year honors. Cotto and Margarito are in the same weight class, Margarito didnt have to jump 2 weight classes to beat Cotto. Plus Margarito is way bigger then Cotto.

Look at the size difference in the Pac vs. DLH fight, DLH was way bigger then Pac. He fought at 130, 135, and 147 in a span of a year. Maybe if Margarito took a Williams fight this year and beat him I would mention Tony in this race.

Funny how everyone is now calling Delahoya a washed up old fighter now.

u say that like if it was an automatic advantage fo dlh it wasnt and that was one of the factors of why dlh got his ass handed to him n dlh is past his prime hes not da same n margarito fought cotto at his prime wit an undefeated record

Bottom line, Delahoya was suppose to win, everyone said that and everyone predicted it and for Pac, a 135lb fighter, to come up and not only win but give DLH a beatdown, well thats pretty mother$#@%^ impressive. Of course your going to pick Margarito judging from your profile and I aint going to hate on your opinion but when the the votes are in Pac takes it this year.

Honestly, believe it or not I picked Margarito over Cotto and I have the MGM sports book ticket to prove it (Made 200 that night). I was at that fight and yes it suppose to go Cotto's way but watching his fight against Mosley and seeing how Mosley shooked Cotto, I had to put money on Margarito. It was an IMPRESSIVE win for Tony and he is one of my favorite active fighters. For him to take shot after shot by Cotto and keep coming goes to show his relentlessness (I call him the Tijuana Terminator). I do predict a a good year for Tony in 09' with a win over Shane and the same destruction over Cotto, as much as I like Cotto as well, I believe the outcome will be the same.
