Wow. Didn't see it that way. I guess he was getting greedy wasn't he? Would you say that he would be nowhere without the two Hopkins wins?

I don't know how you can say something bad about Jermaine Taylor.

I think you'd find very few boxers who don't feel the same way; most are just more tactful than to say it in a live television interview.

To his credit, that interview also shows him giving tremendous praise to Kelly Pavlik for his win over Miranda.

As for feeling sorry for him... why would you feel compelled to feel sorry for Jermain Taylor anyway? Or almost any other successful boxer for that matter?

Yes, but when u no longer want to prove yourself against the best, and all you care about is making the money, then i can can no longer support you as a fighter. Im a fan of the sport, and a fan of competitive matchups. Im not here to root for big money fights. Boxers finances are none of my concern.

Bingo. Of course every fighter wants big money fights, but i think it was inopropriate to say it like that on live television. It just seemed a bit classless.

These guys pour their heart and soul into this sport, and you don't care about their finances? You should want to see them well compensated for the entertainment they provide you, especially the ones that are willing to prove themselves against the best.

At least Taylor is saying he'll fight anyone, even if it is for a paycheck. You've got guys out there like Mundine that go running away from anything remotely competitive.

true but boxing is a poor-man sport. most boxers want fights with a big paycheck at the end.

to be fair...it's usally boxers that are in the middle of their professonal's carrers that won't fight unless a payday invole.

but you do have boxers like cotto who were born to box.
