Floyd deserves all the credit in the world for his skill level and what he's accomplished. In my humble opinion, which should never count for much, Floyd gets denied credit because he is just a mouthy piece of rhino **** outside the ring. He had all the mouth of Ali but none of the playfulness.
When Ali used to call Joe Frazier a gorilla, everyone took a step back, smiled, and said to themselves... "hah, he does kinda look like a gorilla". Floyd is just an ass. He wanted to be more than the best fighter, he wanted to be the best showman. To be a showman, you have to have charisma. Instead, the best Floyd could do was become the man everyone loved to hate. He was the second biggest draw in boxing behind Oscar. The only difference was, people tuned in to see Oscar win. They tuned in to Floyd hoping someone would put finally shut him up.
From rounds 1 to 12, he deserves nothing but admiration and respect. Floyd outside the ring is a very large, sundried pile of rhino **** (with a possible hint of Liquid Ass).
