if he didnt have such a good chin he'd a been taken out the game a loooong time ago
After rewatching the fight last night, i would have to agree with you. He took some heavy shots to the face/head. I was astonished that he seemed as if nothing happened to him while in his corner in between rounds.

If his chin was average, I imagine his trainer would be teaching him to fight more defensively and conservatively.

About the same place as Mayweather without Nady and Cortez.

If he didn't have a good chin, he'd have fought differently.

Where would Ali be without his height?

              All pretty pointless arguments, really.

With regards to Margarito-Mayweather, the reason I think Mayweather would not beat Margarito is because Margarito has it in him to keep coming all night, relentless pressure and has the height advantage where Mayweather would be short with his counter punches and be forced to extend himself.

Mayweather wouldn't take the fight and I don't blame him; the odds just aren't in his favor.
the point is that generally a fighter isnt at a world class level based on how well they take punches.......

based on throwing punches with power? Yes.

based on throwing punches with speed? Yes.

              based on avoiding punches? Yes.

based on volume of punches thrown? Yes.

but not typically on the ability to take punches and keep going..... only person i can think of in that category is Gatti, maybe LaMotta too but they possessed obvious skill in other departments as well

I dont think so. I think that's just his style. I cant see how just because a fighter is able to take a good shot, he would actually want to take them without any regard.

yea.. fighters typically dont take that kind of punishment without being fazed
